sweat.gif Shared memory with system RAM I think  sweat.gif

But the amount of VRAM is like... the typical selling point for all salesmen when they try to sell some graphic cards. And the thing is... people think that more is better sometimes.

again, i was expecting someone with such a desktop would know abt this...

anyway, it's juz one of the tactices to mislead buyers...

u really ve to look at the spec of the GPU... u can't compare against each other from the numbers only...

for eg, Mobility Radeon HD5870's desktop equivalent is Radeon HD5770... 800SP, 128-bit, GDDR5... but do take note the mobile GPU are always clocked lower compared to the desktop ones...

another eg, GeForce GTX 285M, equivalent is GeForce 9800GTX+ or GeForce GTS 250...

hmm, but afaik, CF is actually more robust than SLI... especially after AMD separated the CF profiles from the Catalyst...

and another thing is that CF scales better than SLI (more performance gain for the same number of cards)...

ah well, at lest that's wat i read from the desktop reviews...

too little info to determine how far GTX 480M can go...

by specs alone, theoratically 480M should be at better than HD5870 CF... but the clocks on 480M is a pretty big uncertainty...

really can't say anything for sure...
