Hahah, My Alienware M17x arrived, picking it up later, wanna change proccessor also to QX9300. Will post benchmark later. QX9300, 8GB 1333Mhz, GTX280M SLi
Added on December 22, 2009, 6:27 am QUOTE(Eugene91 @ Dec 21 2009, 10:51 PM) you are wrong brother, i think u r still in the old age, for Asus they dont mind u to take out the back over, but on the Porccessor heat sink there got a sticker, carefully dont tear it off then should be ok 1. my warranty still valid. Added on December 22, 2009, 6:36 am QUOTE(Fantasia @ Dec 21 2009, 03:10 PM) so do u plan to change ur graphic card in ur laptop like last time u change ur G51's processor like plugging in pendrive?? ya planning to get a GTX260M Sli for my another M17xQUOTE(Mr.Docter @ Dec 21 2009, 07:29 PM) u wanna buy? im thinking of buying 2 5870 for cross fire too, but what i know from Dell Engineer, they they might not do a bios revision for a new GC.But somehow they are going to have a new model for M17x with Core i7. this doesnt sounds good. Even 5870 witht MXM3.0B is matched with Ccurrently M17x, but bios is not compactible to the GC. anyway, when it is available for M17x, i sure will grab for upgrade. What not good? New Arrandale Core i7 only two cores with 4 Threads..(Which Intel says if app nid more than 2 cores, it will pretend to have 4 cores using the threads? ) at least it is clocked higher than the current 720-QM or 820QM(failures i think)..

Unfortunately, you have a woefully misconstrued understanding of Intel's Hyper Threading technology. The only applications that will be able to make use of all logical cores, i.e. all the threads on each core, would be those that are specifically written to take advantage of Hyper Threading. If it isn't, then even if you run a game such as GTA IV, which is really happy with quad cores, Arrandale processors would still be running as duals. |

since long time can change already, except the one using SU, SP series, those are soldered to the mobo.
open the case, unlock the socket and exchange the processor, then lock it back~ as for gpu, 99% notebook in market can't change, except those using mxm slot then can change, even that need to check bios compatibility and etc... well, the point is cpu and gpu part can be expensive and expecially here, hard to find it~ This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Dec 23 2009, 05:16 PM |
