Anyway, not at all Black Edition cpu are unlockable. Result may vary depend chip (some batch), mobo (bios update req if needed) and most important is LUCK

Just try new cheapo mobo. Had tried so many time and can't boot into Windows but using OC Genie II this is what i got. Didn't change any value in bios

am i too outdated for this AMD Phenom ii x2 550 Black Edition? haha

can someone help me unlockng the additional core.
my mother board is MSI 970 Gaming, 2x 4gb kingston hyperx fury, win 7 ultimate 64bit
it have the unlock core feature, which im try using it, and it stuck in the windows logo....i have doing some googling research, and none are helping because its too old

if after unlocked it's not stable it only means 1 thing - d locked core is a bad one. there are some can be unlocked & stable while some not. it's all about luck. back then bios of 700 series mobo have this acc thingy which u can try, but now i guess it's not available on newer boards. more read on acc here:

this is my bios setting...this setting i got after i click on the OC GENIE button...the original cpu multiplier is 200 x 15.5..i have overclock this procs before with the old motherboard, and cant unlock it because of the motherboard limits...which one should i mess with since im new in this unlocking scene
