Hi guys, I might be buying a new PC quite soon and I want to try my luck in unlocking a few cores.

I'm on a budget (about RM700 for both processor and motherboard) so could you guys give some recommendations? I heard the X2s have a better chance to unlock the cores compared to the X3 versions, and the latest motherboards using the 790GX chipset cannot unlock the locked cores anymore.

most 790gx can unlock.
btw if u are planning to unlock the dual core. better be fast.
since the 0922 batch are going to sold out.

LOL my mistake, I always referred using two video cards together as SLi in general, and also due to my history with Voodoo2 video cards

today i scout at lowyat, mostly are 0925 AXXX batch...not sure good or not.
By the way , for RM700 budget , you can get 0922 + MSI 770 C45 at RM625

but the MSI 770 C45 is a barebone mobo ...

No, for AM2+ unlocking the boards which are able to unlock are all CF able mobo..
But for AM3 unlocking, yes there is 2 mobo, MSI 770-C45 RM260 & Gigabyte MA770T-UD3P RM350, but u have to buy DDR3 tho
