QUOTE(azbro @ Jul 25 2009, 10:18 AM) haha...thats what everyone said when they introduce the 16:9 from 4:3.......now its the21:9 from 16:9...... I guess the trend is pretty much stable for now - 4:3 for normal terrestrial broadcast. 16:9 for HD broadcasts. 21:9 for cinemas. I wonder...in 10 years time....what will the ratio be? I bet we will practically move our head left to right to watch whats going on on the other side ..so rather than stick to 3 speakers in front (L,R,C), now they have to put 5 speakers (L, MidL, R,MidR, 1 long center) My bet for the next TV evolution could be built-in 3D processing chips in the TV itself, like the ones from nVidia. No more rubbish red/green 3D nonsense. (well, thats what I am hoping anyway Back to the Philips, I believe for RM20K a pop, those who buy will use it for dedicated HT rooms for movie watching ONLY. |

Current Samsung 3DTV already have ability to convert 2D to 3D by itself. But convert cannot give best quality 3D experience. My bet for the next TV evolution could be built-in 3D processing chips in the TV itself, like the ones from nVidia.
