QUOTE(yuenzhi @ Aug 16 2009, 05:21 PM) well 16105 image quality is suppose to match CZ 16-80, i dont think its 'slightly' better than kit lens. maybe i'll try shooting again when the sun comes up haha FYI, 16-105 was a kit lens for A700 in europe region (correct me if I am wrong)..and I dont think the image quality of 16105 matches 1680cz quality .. but of course, it is better than kit lens (18-70 in this case) .. |

QUOTE(yuenzhi @ Aug 16 2009, 05:47 PM) i think u r right abt the A700 kit lens. it is true that the image quality of 16105 can match up 16-80CZ, the only diff is 16105 has soft corners at wide open. i've read a lot of review and comparison before buying 16105 n thats how i came across so many people saying the image quality between these 2 r almost the same. mind to share your photo taken by 16105? maybe 16105 users have experience in checking the lens problem, etc .. |

QUOTE(albnok @ Aug 16 2009, 11:47 PM) Seng_Kiat: Er, you wanted to use Manual Power on the F58 in Aperture Priority on the A700, right? So you need to enable PASM in C04 on the F58. oh, i got it ... Yes, DRO makes your pictures noisier! This is especially so when there is bright sky and dark subject. If you shoot ISO200, and the subject is underexposed by 3 stops, then DRO will brighten the subject by 3 stops (which makes it effectively ISO1600.) The Canon 40D, Nikon D300, and Sony A700 v4 all have the same image quality and noise levels. It's just whether you used DRO/ADL/HTP or not. You can accurately spot meter by changing your AEL button to Spot Meter AEL Toggle. So in the case of bright sky and dark subject, press the AEL button while aiming at the subject and you will get a properly exposed, clean image (but overexposed sky.) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE(yuenzhi @ Aug 17 2009, 11:52 AM) @albnok and hanafinoor - thanks for the comment For landscape, I normally use low aperture (high F number like f14 etc) .. It is because high aperture will produce bokeh. thus, it is not good for landscape (only sharp at focusing point)... for landscape shoot, it is important to have a tripod because you will use long exposure (slow shutter speed) to get right exposure .. i never knew aperture take a major role in term of image sharpness, i always thought that shutter speed play a more important role in term of producing a sharp image. looks like aperture and shutter speed play an equally important role in order to produce a sharp image. i have one question, if i want to take a landscape picture, my A suppose to be as high as possible ? so that everything will be detailed ? This is one of the example with low aperture and long exposure I snapped a couple of months ago: ![]() This post has been edited by Seng_Kiat: Aug 17 2009, 12:17 PM |
