try riding a 1000 cc kawasaki. Hear the sound when you change gear.
hell, try changing gear on a dry clutch ducati.

my point?
Its normal.
I dont know how engine oil can be linked to gearbox but I can tell you its not a problem.
Never was.

yup. i second that. the bike will have a loud "KE-TAK" sound when the gears are engaged. it is especially loud in 1st gear.

VT-Ten,

Yes yes.. The loud sound "Ke-Tak"!! But did your bike jolt to the front a bit? Mine jolts a bit..

Besides this, is your bike heavier on the right side? When I corner on the left side, it s nice and smooth but when on the right side, suddenly it felt a bit heavy.

manggiss,

Nasib lah ini adalah normal. Ingatkan nak cari org tgk2 skit.. Boleh lah riding this weekend.. =)

I thought is coz of the exhaust and suspension is on the right side which cause it to be heavy on the right side..Need to check tyre and fork as well..

Does your bike heated up easily? It seems like mine after a 20 minutes ride, the fan is on and I can feel the heat at my feet area..

the whole left n right thing... could just be the rider...

alot of people i know can take left handers easily....but when it comes to right handers....theyre not as comfortable as left handers...happens on ANY bike.

im one of those people

Which tyre you using now? Mine was BT 021- stupid tyre. Had same problem as you.
Then I changed front tyre to BT 023. reeeallly nice.

More relaxing to corner now.

But till today I cannot prove if its the tyre fault or not because the problem didnt come back.

this is possible also, but the thing is
I'm left handed. hmm.gif

But anyhow,
Ivanlim
this is what I experienced:

(just change front only)

BT-021 - Left cornering OK. Right cornering, the bike will "gegar" a bit and will try to fight your "baring".

BT-023 - Left cornering OK. Right Cornering OK. When you "baring" the bike will stay there until you pull back up.

my advice,
try to ride more and see before you change the tires.

Just went to my usual shop for service and placed in a windshield. Helped a lot in reducing the wind from hitting my body.. Wahaha

For the bike having issues in right corners, I have found out that it is the fork problem. The previous owner might have been involved in an accident.

I can live with it for now. Just need a few adjustments while riding and it will be ok...

The heat...Well, I have to live with it.. Hahah..I will have bbq feet soon

SkeletonKing,

Road tax is 250 and insurance..well..around 500-600..depends u plan for new bike or second hand

Heard from few biker friends ( 2 of em rides ER6) that ER6 got poor cornering dynamics. I know it's no supreme cornering machine, but is it that bad ?

I dun think is that bad..If you are comparing er6 and superbike like zx6 then i think of coz er6 will lose out..

I also have friends who says their er6 is really good in cornerings and even go for track day at Sepang. I think it depends on the rider itself on how comfortable they are with the bike
