I'm frequent travel from JB - KL on weekly basis, I found ER-6N is cheap option for high speed and comfortable motorcycle compared to kapcai, at lease can reach destination in 3 hours, now using car really expensive plus toll, and bus is slow, Car fuel + toll = RM100 , if using motobikes maybe just around RM40. Still surveying for ER-6N. Want to test but last time I went to shop they not allowed me to sit. sad.gif

and pliss remember altho bikes are very fuel efficient, for er6n usually rm0.10 per 1 km @ 140kmh all the way.. but consumables will hurt your pocket,
with the rear tyre being the most expensive. Usually, a decent, sport touring type tyre such as battlax bt020 or bt021 can last you about 12000~ 15000km and it will cost you about rm500~520 a piece.. and not forgetting the chain and sprocket which can last about 15000~30000km depending on your care and maintenance and will set you back between rm400~600 per set.. and other than that the oil filter for this bike is quite expensive @ about rm50... hehe.. me? im a former er6n rider before i got in an accident 4 months back..

how close is work from your office?
will you be riding on the highway?

1) the Z has ALOT of torque and will be fun on the smaller roads
2) the 6n has less torque but for highway cruising, you will save more petrol.

thats why i ask about your trevel distance.

the difference is only 20k.
But remember, you almost double the cost of maintenance when you compare 2 cylinder vs 4 cylinder bike

assume standard service, engine oil & filter will set u back about RM 150 per service for Er6, for Z750 roughly u just double it..why?

ER6 2 Cylinder
2 bottle 1L Engine Oil (Rear tyre 160) 50 MPG (less fuel consumption)

Z750 4 Cylinder
4 bottle 1L Engine Oil (Rear tyre size 180, cost more) 40 MPG ( ++ fuel)

I would think that the ER6N was originally made as a daily city cruiser more than a long distance bike. The sitting position seems to be like a Blade or any other naked bike which can be quite uncomfortable for long distance without a few rest stops here and there... I know that mainly due to my aching knees riding from Johor to Penang.. hahaha

with ur distance from JB to Penang sure need few stop.. smile.gif

Er6 riding position were most comfortable for the majority. Unless u got urself a Goldwing smile.gif

I goes back ipoh couple time in a week..i take me roughly 1 n half hour with 10 minute break for smoke smile.gif

U must be riding more than 200KM/h i guess. Wind resistance not that good for naked. Get urself a nice Windshield..sure feel better smile.gif smile.gif

i think the bike columns u need to refer to other website such as http://malaysianbikers.com.my/forum/ for better feedback..basically the standard price for this bike is RM32,000...i've tested this bike and it's one of the cheapest around for beginner naked bike.but the handling is so so only...i think the max speed you can do is around 180 but it'll shake like hell.....but beware of the second hand value and it may drop drastically...and you may want to upgrade it once you feel more comfortable...sometimes it's worth investing something better

cheers!!

ehem..
the bike handling is light and nimble meaning you can flick the bike side to side during tight corner..
the acceleration is good, but dont expect it will accelerate like 1000cc bike, but it is night and day when you compare it to the other
beginners bike namely the ninja 250r..
the top speed will be 205kmh and if you are patient you can touch 210kmh
but ming you the bike is naked so you have to lie your chest on top of the tank to ride at that high speed..
usually for me, i always cruise at 140kmh but even at that speed i always get body ache because of the wind laugh.gif

bro..i'm not sure if u r experience driver or not...basically, to be cruising around 200+ is kinda dangerous and you need to lean over the tank...maybe ZX6...for any naked bike cruising at the speed is kinda dangerous...and trust me, for a bike capable of running 180, u may ride it comfortably at 150 to 160...

i've got mate riding a 2008 ER6 and maintenance is kinda affortable unless you wana add those accesories....overall, thumbs up for this bike  thumbup.gif

btw Amirad...even Versys is using the same thing as ER6..i would suggest 40K++, try to get a 2007 Z750...try to source from Mudah.com

cheers!!

lol i try riding my fz150 to 130 kmh... hell of a struggle...

hi guys,

just got my er6n today. the torque is really powerful.

I have a question for the owners of er6n. Is your gearbox very clunky? Whenever I change gear, it is very clunky. 1st gear is horrible. It jolts quite bad.

I have read a few forums and it seems that it is not break in properly.. The problem is that this is a second hand bike (Year 2009 and mileage is 35k) . It is impossible that it has not break in properly yet.

I suspect maybe it is the engine oil. Maybe the previous owner did not use fully synthetic engine oil.

try riding a 1000 cc kawasaki. Hear the sound when you change gear.
hell, try changing gear on a dry clutch ducati.

my point?
Its normal.
I dont know how engine oil can be linked to gearbox but I can tell you its not a problem.
Never was.
