And then Arsenal and Liverpool do the same the following week, and they pretend they din see a damn thing.Don't worry, it's the Utd way to stand up against adversity |

QUOTE(aztechx @ Aug 10 2009, 01:26 AM) i think fletcher did a great job in midfield as well..i mean coming from a darren fletcher,it was a good performance! he's slowly becoming an integral part of the squad. The link up play between Berba and Rooney still not that fluent, but Berba is starting to show his strut more and more. He may lack in speed but he still manage to get past players and hold the ball. It could have been a brilliant shot had the defenders didn't block his chip and volley shot, it packs so much venom in it. The key is to improve Rooney and Berba chemistry, then we'll be more dangerous. Valencia was slightly disappointing after his brilliant games against Boca and Valencia. It seems he has the same weakness as the old Ronaldo, Ashley Cole or maybe perhaps he was under too much pressure from his first competitive games. Nani was a delight to watch, guess SAF manage to put some sense in him after last season performance. He ain't the Nani of last season, track back more often, didn't hold the ball that long, didn't try much fancy footwork. Fletcher did his solid dirty work and manage to roam into space a couple of times. Evra was good as usual (besides the penalty, heck that's why he's a defender in the first place) I was thinking Kuszczak should be given the chance after his performance against Valencia. But I think SAF see Foster more for future hence he started. Decision making still not that good yet and easily flustered when he needs to clear under pressure. Good left leg and throw, reaction not bad as well. Hopefully he'll improve given more game this season, I still have faith in him. |

i think the game was fantastic, both teams were great in terms off attacking and defending, but the stupid decisions by the ref, linesman and chelsea's unsporting behavior ruined the game for me. Fergie said after the match that the ref's decision(regarding chelsea 2nd goal) were to blame for the defeat. Some of u will disagree because we lost on penalties anyway but here me out, if it was not because of the chelsea's second goal, fergie wouldnt have to make the substitutions (giggs, scholes, owen, fabio)to search for an equalizer in the first place. I think he was prepared to go to penalties with the first eleven players and the second goal mess up the plan. Berbatov could have taken the penalty instead of evra( so could nani if he wasnt injured). But in the end kudos to chelsea for winning it with penalties. i realized they went for panelties with their same penalty takers lampard, ballack, drogba, kalou and cech in goal where as for us we had giggs, evra, carrick and foster in goal?, so no shame in losing the penalty guys. The positive thing out of this game is that fergie will reconsider which players suitable to take the penalties in the future. Well better lose penalties now rather than real cup games rite?

This game is really something. How many times have you seen Evra taking penalty ahead of other well known names of penalty takers?
