Hi, it's been 13 years since u have wrote this post. May i ask some questions regarding to ur situation? May i know is it the ptptn and the scholarship will not acknowledge about this matter and is it u succeed making it even until the time you graduated??

Like u said, 13 years and policies might change along the ways. But after 13 years, all i can say is, if can, pls stay away from PTPTN. I'm grateful for them in helping me to complete my studies, but the payment to payback is a pain in the ass due to the interest, but still i acknowledge that is my duty to do so by paying back. Is just that i have not much savings within the first 10 years of my work life.

In regards to your question, back in my era, PTPTN payout will in 2 different method, The first method, If you studies in Public Uni, then they will check and work with the public uni directly. Thus payment will flow directly to the private uni and not to the loaner's bank account. So indirectly PTPTN will know if there is any payment discrepancies , if your scholarship also auto payment to uni directly.

2nd method is , PTPTN payout to my bank account directly because i studied in Private Uni. They still work with the private uni , however they only need to know if im still a student and able to pass the semester from the private uni admin, thus from there PTPTN will release the money for my next semester payment into my bank account directly. How i want to spend the money is at my own responsibilities.

In conclusion, dun follow what i said here because mine is more than one decade ago and policies definitely change.. and check with your own PTPTN representatives if you decided to go for it. All the best in your studies ~
