QUOTE(Hico @ Sep 12 2009, 11:35 PM) but i dun think dell can get any spec close to this with rm2k only lo...now my choice is this or acer 4736g.. but seems like a lot of problem with acer this model too after read the forum .. Dell's closest offer is studio 15, which is doing rm2699 now.Added on September 12, 2009, 11:35 pmare you guys using vista or xp? Actually, if you do a fair comparison, it has Ori OS, faster 4570 memory speed . 320gb and excellent top notch service, it's about equal to the price of Asus ( taking account OS, and some minor hardware upgrades from dell) |

QUOTE(karkadeeh @ Sep 16 2009, 09:17 AM) using windows vista ultimate sp 2 now. way better than xp. only the contrast is boot time so long. no problem so far compared to xp. I installed x86 win7. No problems so far, the only driver needed is the 4570. i would conclude, hassle free with win7, only driver needed is the ATi.all drivers installed from cd except graphic card driver is version 090519. for some reason my fan speed sooooo fast O_o .Is that good for long term? on powergear entertainment mode, hd3200, temperature is around 52±5 degree[not k10stat involved], no aircond. seems a "bit' noisy though from the fan. and the iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinggggggggggggggggg sound still exist problem encountered when using xp: high temperature- idle is 75±5 degree... very slow fan speed- maybe thats why temperature is high. very slow when on battery, selalu sangkut2 cant use powerxpress to switch to onboard gpu conclusion, use vista laa. very regret using xp before, wasting so much time trying to find driver and installing etc. to utilize all function available on this laptop without hassle, i really recommend vista. Added on September 16, 2009, 9:21 am get the laptop or netbook that last long ah. 8hours like acer timeline and other brand that i dont know. Power xpress seemed to work fine, but when it resumes from standby, there are a few flicker screens, which i assumed is normal Tried crysis warhead, smooth (at level 2 graphics- mainstream) . i was suprised myself @ the performance. Managed to K10stats it down to 2.1ghz @ 1.050v. (Orthos stable). Palm rest is cool even @ full load. overall, a 9/10. definitely bang for the buck. QUOTE(Dguy @ Sep 16 2009, 10:07 AM) hi guys, You could try Evernew @ LYP , i bought mine @ rm1950(with +1gb ram). That's bout the cheapest it could go. other shops rm1999 - 2099. yes, stocks are scarce. i went to nearly all the shops to ask for it.would any of u know which shop can I get the K50AB? I have tried calling around, but seems to me that no stock for it... only k40AB... i know its just the screen size and keypad... does the K50AB screen provide better images or not much difference with K40AB? Thanks! digital mall (PJ), i rmbred selling 1999rm. evernew too |

QUOTE(NaGeNaZ @ Sep 17 2009, 02:19 AM) My K50 fan does not spin fast enough. The average temperature is about 78'C for normal use (internet, music, etc) even though i use cooler pad. Is this normal ? Some user reporting high fan spin but mine doesn't. It just blows very slowly sometimes mildly. I am using Vista SP2 by the way. I wonder why...? I'm using Win 7, surfing around 78-82C (room temp) ..doesn't spin FAST too.. |

QUOTE(simonsii @ Sep 17 2009, 03:07 PM) Now I realized that after I upgraded my K50AB to BIOS 213, it did not reboot after upgrading. While, I need to press Power On button to start it. 1. yes it will shut down after flashing. u hav2 power on again[Power express mode] It can only detected ATI 3200; it will say HD 4570 is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31) [dGPU mode] Totally insane, it can only detect Standard VGA Video Adapter... wordless I am using GPU driver download from Asus website with the link from page 1. Is there anyone can help me!!!! 2. mine have no prob, detected 4570 properly (dGPUmode). did u follow the proper way of DNA modding? |
