yeah done tat..but i don think it's possible to 'forced' it to run 1ghz continuously rite? it will step up/down accordingly to defined %

win xp rite? i'm not sure how many unknown drivers u need to install. but for win 7, i can confirm only the display driver is needed
try goin to asus site and download the required XP dirvers

to use the Fn button to control volume, display etc, u need to install the ATK drivers by asus.the website should hav it

yes the keyboard buttons are a bit soft. but not an issue to me, juz a matter of getting used

the speakers are OK(better than i've expected), i've heard worst audio from other lappies.

so far, after 1week having k50ab, i'm proud to say, having no probs with it

totally satisfied with the price. games i've tried so far

a) L4D (smooth, almost max graphics settings)
b) Microsoft Flight Simulator X ( graphics averagely @ medium. I was suprised it could run TAT well )
c) GTA IV- unplayable, fair as it is, already taxing most medium config deskstop

i believe the GPU could be OCed further once a proper software is available. as of now, no OC software is able to do it

Cons:
- HD3200 to 4570 powerplay switching issue. At times it's ok, most of the time it's problematic. hope ATi solves the issue in the coming drivers. Using dGPU mode for now
- battery life, average usage (surfing, wifi, audio behind) gives me around 1hr 45min TOPS. to be expected given the lowest P states & clock it could run. Not Asus's problem, more of like the cpu itself

Pros:
- at the time of writing, i believe it's one of the best gaming:performance price ratio
- good thermal design by asus, palm rest feels cool even @ LOAD, where most other notebook burnts. (cooler not needed)
- quite solidly built for its price. design is kinda cool too

mayb u should try playing around with CCC, before asking too many of those basic questions

it's not hard to understand..logics will tell u

wan cheap, wan good, wan performance, wan fast.don exist la

not too hard wut installing OS and softwares..don take a genius to do it

yeah sounds like the typical kiasu. more the better for the same price

no need to install any best drivers

juz install the latest catalyst 9.9(mod with mobility modder)

played tropico 3 for 5hours. man it was smooth, details almost to the max, minus shadow n AA.

recommended to install VIA driver, v7.300 latest. It sort of solves the cracking/buzzing sound i hav from the speakers
