I've been using this great freeware for 2 years.
I really hope to see one simple feature: sorting on columns (by stock name etc.). That would be very helpful when trying to find certain selling price history since there is no search feature.

Hope the developers could see this feedback message. Thank you very much for your hard work!!

I install the software, connect to internet that's all and start using, never notice got any connection problems.

I just did a search there and there were a few requests on this feature since 2009 and so.
So they just didn't think it's an important feature I guess. Although some of us think it's very important and useful.

maybe you need to turn off all security on your system since everyone is ok. this app sounds cool, and the upcoming items on the developers blog is awesome. thanks Mr Dev

Recommend to use klse.i3investor.com. It have the consolidated price target, news and info for a stock. Now available for Malaysia Singapore, US, UK, Canada, Australia. It is totally free.

You may create your own stock portfolio there to manage your profit/loss. Also, use the watch list feature to monitor the stock.

The error is usually caused by missing stock-info-database.xml

Can you please check, whether you have the following file in your machine.

C:\Users\YOUR-USERNAME\.jstock\1.0.6\Malaysia\database\stock-info-database.xml

Added on November 17, 2011, 11:45 pmya. we do notice that this is an important feature. we do not have it in yet due to some technical obstacle. it is current in our development roadmap. - porting to android, sortable portfolio, better cloud storage...

but we cannot predict when it will be ready as we have very limited development resource. but bear with us, we have your wished feature in mind. everything is moving on slow, but steady

i have the xml file and i can see the content of the xml file, but i still get the network error problem.

when i launch jstock, the message on the status bar at the bottom is always connecting to stock server to retrieve information, then it changes to 0 stock downloaded so far, then network error.

however, i do get the KLSE level/points on top updated.

if i go to Portfolio Management tab and click Buy, i always get the error "We haven't connected to stock server".

If i go to Options, Network, i can see both server icons in the ok status (no No Entry sign on both server icons).

ii install jock but on options down have any menu...how to set it

In order to help me to diagnostic your problem, please follow the following steps.

1) Download Linux version of JStock through http://downloads.sourceforge.net/jstock/js...-1.0.6h-bin.zip

2) Extract the zip file to c:\ of your computer.

3) Remove commons-logging.properties, which is found in c:\JStock\config\commons-logging.properties

4) Open up command prompt, type the following command.



5) There should be a list of error message, explaining why network error happens. Copy and paste the entire message to here.

After that, I can figure out from you the root cause of the problem.

i close jstock program once the Network Error message appears in the status log and hence terminating the log collection.

Thanks for the report. I know what is the cause. Please temporary downgrade to Java 6 http://www.java.com/en/, till we release a solution.
