what is ur cpu temp idle and load??
*
Load is at about 61C with 1.4v at 3.7GHz right now, currently testing in a very hot room with a cramped up casing btw Temps drop another 4C-5C when I leave the side panel open, just an indicator on how bad the airflow in my casing is laugh.gif

The only problem is the stock fan, which I think is a bit slow for the silence. Coupling a bigger CFM fan to the CCF would definitely be much better, as sound won't be a problem with the included fan controller.

You can take a look at the Deepcool Ice Blade Pro too, which I was also considering to buy at that time, about the same price as well. Frostytech has both of them for review IINM, but overall for the price-to-performance, both are much cheaper than those other heatsinks which cost RM250 and above.

Did a simple mod for my CCF, and my load temps dropped to 54C from 58C. Looks like 3.8GHz might be a reality after all. laugh.gif

i see sir, crucial indeed is crucial in temp...  laugh.gif
is that quad or x2 bro?

a quick chck guys, how many volts needed in order to to 3.9~4.0GHz prime stable @ x2?  smile.gif

X2 biggrin.gif

Currently running 1.45v to reach 3.8GHz, if that helps.

Generally, is it better to play clock speeds or timings for memory for PIIs?

Nice OC. rclxms.gif Hardware Monitor's showing an extra 100MHz in clock speeds, and may I ask what are you using to cool that PII?

Nice stuff, especially your RAM speed thumbup.gif

Is it better to play timings or RAM speed? Currently I have my RAMs at 230MHz 7-7-7 from stock 200MHz 7-7-7. Seeing you guys bump it up to 9-9-9 really scary lah, but is there any performance improvement?

Miahahaha, lower latency is still a bit better, ur 7-7-7 is still much better than 9-9-9.. But u won't really notice it tho.. hmm.gif

QUOTE(ah_khoo @ Sep 17 2009, 11:55 AM)
d ram is nothing if compared to kingmax value ram bro... 9-9-9-x is like a rubber band which lost its elasticity, 7-7-7-x ftw... but too bad i can't afford any d9 ram now...  sad.gif

not much improvement but d speed of windows (whatever u open in explorer) popin out is noticeably faster.  nod.gif
*
Actually, I can't see the improvements. I always assumed RAM speed and timings like power-to-weight ratio in cars; even with a high CC (RAM speed), your car isn't necessarily fast if it's heavy (timings) tongue.gif

like in what instances?? im kinda disappointed that 620 and 630 beat my 720BE in many benchmark ~~ should have waited

Nothing can replace the amount of cores, but nothing can replace the amount of cache either smile.gif

You'll need to rely on the external CPU temperature sensor on the motherboard. What board is that?
