For those who couldn't make it to Singapore for the Nike+ Human Race 10K, do check out my report http://runnerzcircle.blogspot.com/2009/10/...e-10k-2009.html.

Also do wait for ccube's report on his North Face Enduranec Race for it's certainly a gruelling experience. All hands together for a newly crowned ULTRA MARATHONER!

Marathon is an overused word. I pointed that out before. I almost burst into laughter but yet sad at the same time reading the past few posts.

Ultra marathon: Any distance more than 42.195KM
Marathon: 42.195KM
Half marathon: 21.1KM
Quarter marathon: 10KM

Please get this facts right before issueing a statement here. One wrong statement may costs a person's life here.

QUOTE(euphoria88 @ Oct 27 2009, 05:50 PM)
why?
Asking a person not to drink while running a marathon distance, that's suicide. Imagine if a forumer is new to running here and take your advice for it, imagine what will happen.
There's already a casualty at this year's edition of the adidas King Of The Road for dehydration running a half marathon distance. Running deaths though do happen are very minimal and I hope that it will not happen in this forum.

QUOTE(euphoria88 @ Oct 27 2009, 05:52 PM)
to me those power bars/power gels are used to build up confidence. It does help a lil, yes, but no obvious difference.
Things are all made for a reason. Try out a longer distance and your body will be screaming for it.

QUOTE(tengster @ Oct 27 2009, 05:55 PM)
maybe I have dehydrated body that needs more replenishment compared to seasoned runners......I really sweat a heck lot.....for a 10 or 11k, underwear also wet like nobody biz.......
I believe you are wearing cotton underwear. Micro-fibers underwear may be your answer. Renoma has it and it's easliy found in major departmental stores.

sigh. BECAUSE I'VE TRIED IT. I am a swimmer also btw for 10 years competing in state and nationals. What do you think?  shakehead.gif
wokay. really sorry for the misunderstanding smile.gif
Now I learn a new definition haha.

It doesn't matter now. Learn from your mistake. We are not here to bombard you, just helping others and yourself get certain facts right.

As for running and swimming, the calory consumption is a big difference. Yes, you might not need energy gels for swimming, but it's a must for running for most of the runners including elites and even the world marathon record holder.

d3vilzzzz: The half marathon distance for Penang Bridge International Marathon this year is 21KM. AIMS certified.

d3vilzzzz: How can I say I'm ready when I did not prepare for it at all. LOLz... My hotel everything already settled. What's the size for your Elite Compression Tights? For men, I'm only left with Size Small, which I think should suit you nicely. Am bringing it to Terry Fox Run tomorrow so you know where to find me. Will be there early.

d3vilzzzz: My training are all running based. Haven't been cycling at all. So see me suffer at the bike and the second run.

I don't think that's possible as I'm staying with my group as it has all been settled by my "coach".

Impossible you wear size L. Toto4D is wearing a size M and recently I just sold a size M to another runner who is larger than Chee Kong. You wear size L, no more compression already. Haha... And it's recommended to go a size down for the extra compression.

I will start my run tomorrow at 5am. Will be back at the carpark around 7.15am and will hang out there till about 8.30am before proceeding to Tapak A for Terry Fox. Come and meet me at my usual spot.

Creatine is a type of acid that is naturally produced in our body but certain people opt to buy them off the shelves. It provides you with a sudden surge of energy. However, it does more harm than good. It has been discussed before and answers can be found on Google.
