Dear all.....

Given two choice, Civic 1.8 and Peugeot 308 Turbo. Which car do you choose?

A simple scenerio.

- Depreciation is not the factor and assuming you gonna keep that car for more than 10 years.
- Maintenance of car whereby 308 every 10000km and Civic, 5000km
- The features offer by both car

Appreciate if you do give a vote and state the reason you choose.

To those that already voted....many thanks...

regards

Civic 1.8L for the tuning and modding potential plus the ease of obtaining parts.

If you want to get the HONDA CIVIC,you have to get the 2.0 one.The 1.8 is seriously underpower.

If you insist on getting the 1.8,then of course the Peugeot 308 TURBO is way way way better.

I hv test drove the THP and its a damn fun car to drive!

Dont really agree with u here. The 1.8 is still quite decent for normal driving. Perhaps u have the perception bcoz of the 1.5cc engine used in the new city (same engine series with the 1.8 actually), u thought the 1.8 is weak? wink.gif

I test drove the 1.8 and the performance is quite decent from low-mid and high rpm.

I also have to totally disagree with you here.

Yes you are right about 1.8 CIvic being decent for normal driving. But the thing is,its not a fun car to drive. When you step on the accelerator, the cars refuses to budge. You have to really press the accelerator deep in before the car really picks up pace.If your talking about the 2.0 Civic, then I would say its darn nice to drive.Just one word to sum up the 1.8 CIVIC.Lousy!

Once you test drive the Peugeot 308 Turbo, you wouldnt want to get the CIVIC 1.8 anymore =)

if depreciation is not the factor, then there is ONLY one answer, the 308.

As always...it depends on what is your daily use of a car?...

The question is WHAT are you hoping from a car rather than what's the difference between them....which is obviously answered between

a) conti cars are expensive
b) parts ain't cheap for conti cars, but Honda parts ain't cheap either...
c) reliability of any turbo cars...after 5 years
d) seriously...would you prefer a car to be serviced only at 10k km or more frequently to avoid issues?...how long does it take for you to clock 10k ?...6 months?...or 1 year?....

e) long distance travelling?...
f) did you test both cars and find which suits your taste?...everyone has different taste and thoughts on different cars....

g) FC?..1.8 has far better mileage than the 308THP.

For me,given those choice, the 308THP suits my lifestlye better and what I want from a car...that's it...but I can't afford one...hahahaah
