EUREKA!!!

now i know that i'm not the cause of the mother to be so stressed out and eat her babies.

it was fly maggots. really small fly maggots. they were underneath her and between her legs so i didn;t see them until last night.

i have transfered all of her babies into a container and i hope they will be strong enough to molt to 2instar without her.

i have removed all of the maggots from her. i saw about 5 on her. some were really small.

after i have clean her, she is not that aggresive at all. all the time she just sat at the palm of my hand and allowed me to clean her.

since all of her babies are not with her i have introduce her to the communal tank. and i can say that she is doing well.

it is a very weird feeling that a creature that is almost feared everywhere can be so docile.

There is no advice of how many splings u wanna keep,it depends on u.U can keep all or u can keep some.
The ingredients for pinheads r:
1)Male crixs
2)Female crixs
The other u got the point wink.gif

How to make crixkets... hmm... let see..
a bowl of adult male crix.. and a bowl of females crix..
add them together in a large mixing bowl.
Place a damp coco fibre in the mixing bowl.
wait for loud chirping noice and in a weeks times hey presto.. you got eggs..
and another week after that HEY PRESTO!! pinheads...
that is how you make pinheads.. or u mean a pinhead cupcake.. lol

i am sorry for your losses ...
hmm u got try feeding it with crickets ?? i thinkit might be hungry ...
juzt to share anit from my personal experience .......

when my afs pop .... normally i still feed the mother ,, fearing it might consume the babies as it will be hungry after it pop and also
she would require nut...but there is always a risj in doin git as the cricket might in return feed on the babies.....

for oyur case i think u did not feed her rite  and she is hungry i guess .... but no worries after the babies turn 2i and start leaving her . sep them
then wait for a month or so .. feed her well and she is ready to go ...

rem to take pics of the mating smile.gif
