some updates.
have house all the scorpions into the containers. upon closer inspection i have to conclude that all of lester's scorpions are fat. i have never seen such fat scorpions before.
the "mama" is still giving birth. i have decided not to put her into the maternity ward since i'm worried she will be more stress out and starts to eat more of her youngs.
the other female is in the "maternity ward" and is doing fine.
the rest of the scorpions which are all males except for 1 that i couldn't sexs are house communally and i see the same "asking for permission" behavior as i see in my longimanus. they would vibrate the tail and if he/she is accepted then they can share the hide.
the longinanuses are also doing well and are eating again. they seems to like temperature in the upper 30 degrees.
i would like to add that spinifers are way bigger then longimanus. don;t know if they pinch harder then the longimanus.
will find out when i have the time.
eastwing' again i asked of you get an afs if you are interested in having a scorpion. it will save a lot of your time and also who knows even your life.

an enclosure right beside my bed.
basically i can kiss the thing if i turn my head.
i am very sensitive to sound and if the scorpions is taping the wall enclosure i can wake up and see what it is up too.
the enlcosure is devoid of any decorations has a water dish and a food dish which has 1 or 2 mealworms inside.

they will go out when the room is dark and the conditions are right.
then they will go out. if it is not necessary then they will not venture out of the burrow or hide.
a good way to know if the scorpion has been walking around is to clean your water dish and inspect it the next day and see if there are any trace of substrate in them. if there are then it means the scorpions are walking about when we are sleeping or away.

k.fai not only mealworms but crickets also can. like me i can;t find crickets here so i feed them meal worms.
and sumtimes i will hunt for house lizards, i don't fee the whole lizard but just take the tail and i let go of the lizard so i can have a new tail when it regrows.
but don't use traps to get the lizards, u have to use the rubber band technique.
only true kampung folks know how to use that technique. just to stun the lizards and not kill it.
Added on July 11, 2009, 10:14 pmtell me the dimensions of your enclosure. sound to me like it is really shallow.

i thing that amuses me with scorpions when they are exploring the tanks is that they like to knock on the wall.
it is like they are trying to find a place where the wall is thinner so that they can punch a hole through it.

cannot like that.
when selecting a sp to buy we must consider a lot of factors.
any animal in fact. let it be a cat or a betta fish we must put a lot of thought into the purchase.

if you have seen natures destruction and the consequences from its destruction due to the greed and idiotic behavior of human Ryo, you will tremble in sadness and anger.
how many times have i been angry when i see stray cats and dogs die because of human pleasure. how many times have i witness forest being choped down and burn in the name of modernisation and profit.
i just really hope that people will take natures conservation seriously before it's too late.
