Dr Ranjit in SS15 maybe? A few of my friends gave good feedback on Dr Ko but prepare to pay. Dr Ranjit apparently seems more affordable.

but i look at other thread and ranjit is not really recommended?
how much for the consultation fee for dr ko?

Perhaps you could try a range of product called Luminesce, created by an American cosmetic surgeon name Dr. Nathan Newman. My brother has got serious acne issues as well and ever since he started using the products, his issue has steadily improved and his pores are getting smaller. He has tried many products and gone for many dermatologist consultations in the past and they didn't help his condition, but this range he is using helped him plenty.

I try all kind of expensive way but end up calaminr works better than all those.

Try to purchase "calamine lotion" in nearest pharmacy, try for a few weeks
It is cheap and most importantly it works smile.gif

You can try the above regime if you've not tried it before.

Try looking for products with AHA or BHA to see if it works for you.

I agreed when you said that cheaper products actually gave better results. My mother introduced me a cheap soap which costs like RM3, and it actually made my pimples rate lower. I hope it actually works for me so that i can get my confidence back.

Which one is this soap? I'm desperately seeking for one!

Used to have this issue too.. I've shared my advice with my friends and all of them so far have overcome their acne issue.

1. Facewash
Consult a doctor on the type of skin you have, whether its oily, dry and etc. They would usually know which type of was is suitable for you. Buy travel sets of Dermatologica or CLINIQUE (im using this) and try it out. They really work when correctly used.

2. Hygiene
Aside from washing your face, you must also have a clean environment to sleep in.
-Make sure pillow case , bed sheets and towel are being washed and changed once a week.
-If you have body acne, use a separate towel for your body and face.
-Try not to scratch or touch your face when outside. Some ppl will do it unknowingly. This will actually cause pimple to pop up because of the bacteria in your hands.

3.Diet
Lastly would be your diet. Please remove sugar from your diet as well as reduce intake of fried food. Reducing intake of sweet stuff like teh tarik, coca cola will help alot.

4.External factors
Things like sleep & stress can also cause acne. Stress is harder to deal with because it comes and go. Proper sleeping habits practices such as sleeping early and waking up early. It will give the body enough to recovery

These are my tried and proven techniques.

Healthy lifestyle and good skincare can't cure acne. They only don't make it worse or at most improve a little.

Throughout years of suffering acne( since puberty until now 25 years old), I have learned that medication is the most effective way to control acne.

People with acne have sebaceous overactivity and skin hyperkeratination, most probably due to genetic factor or hormonal imbalance. Most acne ceases on it's own when a certain age is hit, usually at 18-20, except for adult acne. Medication will tacke one or both of the root problems above.

So I will advise if you are suffering from acne go to a good dermatologist, instead of spending a lot in trying different skincare products or facial treatments.

Be careful with isoretinoids though. It should only be perscribed to severe acne. It comes with many side effects, depression is one of the worst, and pregnancy is strictly prohibited during and at least six months after the course. Have your liver and lipid levels checked during the course. I have seen quite some doctors prescribe it without educating the patients properly, even to the extend saying that it's an antibiotic. That's quite unethical from my pov.

Always read the leaflet coming with the medication you are given.

So far I have only seen Dr Ranjit. He is good in my book. He explained my acne condition, named the medication he was going to prescribe and told me the side effects. He even gave me a few options and asked my preference.

Actually the medications prescribed by dermatologists do not vary much. So for me it's just down to whether they will be concerned and attentive with your problems, or they solely wanna milk money.
