Just booked one just now. The car is actually not bad la. Given the price and the fact that Perodua > Proton, it should be a decent car to drive to/from work and normal city driving.
Cheers

You booked one already? Cool. How many months did they say you'd have to wait?

Mini Livina..if you can't afford the Livina, there's always a Viva Elite!
Actually, not bad looking on the outside, juz that the inside totally doesn't match the outside.. doh.gif

I hope not.

It's something sure to come~
As there's no advantage a manual have over an auto nowadays.. thumbup.gif
Manuals are slower, and consume more fuel now! doh.gif
Even race cars are also using auto with manual shifts la now.. Sorry sign0006.gif ~~

juz take the white then, viva in white is quite good lookin through my eyes..

besides, i think the midnight blue is a craze not becoz its that good lookin, its juz coz its new at the moment.. its kinda like when they introduced that horrifically ghastly orange on the myvi se.. everybody raved on bout it 4 a while, n then itll all juz die down, its juz a phase..

seriously, a white viva is gud lookin..

I think their main concern is the price. If all the models slashed by 5k, I think it'll be getting more praise. Also it's main competitor, the Saga BLM, a sedan, is cheaper. No doubt people will still buy MyVi/Viva, but there has been a lack of innovation on Perodua's part. All their cars so far are re-badges with minor exterior modifications. It wouldn't be so bad if the price was lower. Right now it just feels like they're trying to maximize profits only.

Its a shrinked grand livina with an unjustified price. Worse the power steering n passive safety features is only for the Elite for 45k. Add alittle more and you may get the more spacious and powerful and more well speced myvi.

This is bullocks effort from Perodua. Thank goodness at least Proton has better offerings for such price. wink.gif

y they did is so beyond my comprehension..

Proton overtakes Perodua in total sales

Now if only Proton would just fix all the QC issues and after service stuff, people wouldn't hesitate to buy their cars. Proton should also try to make an economical city car. All their cars now seem to be designed for gearheads who want speed and power. Savvy was a nice attempt at an fuel-economical car though.

the prob proton has in making a fuel efficient car is that they havent got a proper engine.. as we all know, the campro is by no means a fuel efficient engine.. coupled wit an automatic gearbox especially, it'll suck fuel like nobody's business..

u guys realize y perodua is making this move rite?? theyre gettin cocky, theyre gettin really cocky indeed, coz they think theyre now so much better than proton..

From Autoworld Site:
"In a show of refreshing frankness and honesty, Perodua revealed that they were stung into action by a drop in sales of the 1.0-litre and by the 660 variant not performing as planned. The presentation made to the media also pointed at an Exora-inspired surge that saw Proton overtook Perodua's sales figures in June 2009.

Their response now sees Perodua offering to the Malaysian public the cheapest car and the cheapest automatic car on sale in the form of the ViVA 660BX and the ViVA 1.0 A/T respectively."

So Perodua knows they're losing momentum. I'm glad they're aware of this, but still I find the pricing too high. But I think it's garnered interest because the Perodua website feels slower this morning. Probably getting more traffic. laugh.gif

But no point offering the cheapest car with almost no features.
No point in offering the cheapest automatic car if it doesn't feel safe to drive.

The only economical car from proton is really the underrated proton savvy. However despite the campros are fuel gruzzlers (the saga BLM FC is at 11-12km/l for a 1.3 car which is not impressive), but for what u paying for it is acceptable. Dont forget it is still a proper small saloon car which favours majority of malaysians.

Perodua is just like its another subsidery, UMWT who got cockier with the success of Toyota. Well u cant blame malaysian mentality, anything with T or H badge rulez everything. wink.gif

the prob wit the savvy is the looks, people juz cant accept it.. i tried 2 appreciate it, but still cant sweat.gif n that renault engine, its a good engine, but people here still have this rather stupid assumption that becoz its a continental engine, it'll be unreliable n expensive 2 maintain.. also, ive heard that the amt's quite problematic as well (not quite sure bout that, but ive heard lots of owners complaining bout it).. but the manual one is pretty much prob free..
