i think i agree wit wat some of u said.. the new look is kinda wrong 4 such a small car.. 4 me, the old look is okay enough, y change it?? probably 2 keep things fresh, n maybe jack up price tag..

They are introducing Elite and also BX( engine n car shell only) to the Viva family ..one nicer while the other is hopeless with no acc..
well, it is suppose 2 be a kancil replacement.. n it is suppose 2 be 4 someone who wants sumthin really cheap n dont mind the bare-ness of it..

i think its a fabulous idea thumbup.gif

Added on July 21, 2009, 12:59 pmn besides, i really mind not having the radio.. coz the standard ones they fit in the viva is crap!! worst radio ive ever come across in a new car..

worst radio but is it a good enough reason to leave it out?
wink.gif

worst is still better then nothing
wink.gif

like how ppl wan a car from A to B
ppl just want something to listen to while in the car.... crappy radio or not...
laugh.gif
i would say yes.. i mean, its juz a matter of u want sumthin cheap.. u want a 25k new car, u cant really be choosy bout wat its got n wat it doesnt, rite??

n besides, juz go 2 ur nearest accessories shop, get a new unit wit speakers for juz couple of hundred bucks..

its like the satria neo 4 instance, we know its got a less than desirable engine.. but we want a sporty lookin hatch 4 under 60k.. so we'll buy it coz we simply cant be too choosy when we're talkin bout this sorta price range.. n if ure still no satisfied, we can juz go improve the engine wit aftermarket mods rolleyes.gif

i think its a very very good idea.. 25k for a new, small, frugal car, that is essentially juz a car, no add ons watsoever.. i think theres gonna be a big market 4 sumthin like this, its gonna sell well.. parents buying their children a car, first time car buyers, someone whos lookin 2 buy a small use in the city 2nd car, would probably look 4 sumthin like this.. n im sure these people would not gonna be really bothered bout it not having a radio..

That said though, I think I'll delay my buying of a car till next year when the Kia Forte is released. The Viva Elite midnight blue looks nice, but have to wait for customer reviews.
wat 4 wait 4 reviews?? its juz the same car as b4, only looks a bit diff n wit a bit of tiny add-ons..

Whether it looks really as good as the brochure. And by introducing the facelift, whether they screwed up anything (increased kerb weight, etc).
i dont think theres anythin 2 worry bout weight increment, becoz if there is, i reckon its juz a slight increase.. but how much of a price increase between the elite n the used 2 be top of the range ezi model??

Based on Tissue's post, elite is now
1000cc EZi RM44,900 (new bumper hood, with fog lamp and etc)
RM700 more than the current price 44,200.00 (metallic) unsure.gif
rm700 n get the extra bodykit, i wonder if thats worth it or not.. its not much rite?? u'll be spending way more than that if u go 4 a new set of rims.. n as far as i can tell, the changes r juz cosmetic, rite?? no difference on the inside that i could see..

sumthin caought my eye in the brochure, the elite's rear spoiler is only available wit the ezi model.. meaning only the auto version's gettin that spoiler.. y is that?? its impossible that theres anythin mechanically or electronically linking that spoiler 2 the gearbox, so is it juz some physical thing 2 show other people that ure spending a bit more 4 the self shifting gearbox??

btw andrew, i think the elite comes wit a manual as well..

I missed that. That IS weird. Maybe they want to encourage people to purchase the more expensive automatic version.
if thats really the case, they gonna have 2 do much much more than that.. i dont know bout u guys, but if ive set my mind on gettin a manual than an automatic, its gonna take alot more than a spoiler 2 change my mind.. i bet u guys too, rite??

juz take the white then, viva in white is quite good lookin through my eyes..

besides, i think the midnight blue is a craze not becoz its that good lookin, its juz coz its new at the moment.. its kinda like when they introduced that horrifically ghastly orange on the myvi se.. everybody raved on bout it 4 a while, n then itll all juz die down, its juz a phase..

seriously, a white viva is gud lookin..

from wat i understand from readin the info at paultan, power steering is only available wit elite models, while airbags, abs, ebd n ba is only available wit elite ezi.. that means, if u want a manual wit all the safety gizmos now, u cant, where else u were able 2 b4 wit the sxi.. my goodness, no wonder theres so many bashing sweat.gif

y they did is so beyond my comprehension..

the prob proton has in making a fuel efficient car is that they havent got a proper engine.. as we all know, the campro is by no means a fuel efficient engine.. coupled wit an automatic gearbox especially, it'll suck fuel like nobody's business..

u guys realize y perodua is making this move rite?? theyre gettin cocky, theyre gettin really cocky indeed, coz they think theyre now so much better than proton..

the prob wit the savvy is the looks, people juz cant accept it.. i tried 2 appreciate it, but still cant sweat.gif n that renault engine, its a good engine, but people here still have this rather stupid assumption that becoz its a continental engine, it'll be unreliable n expensive 2 maintain.. also, ive heard that the amt's quite problematic as well (not quite sure bout that, but ive heard lots of owners complaining bout it).. but the manual one is pretty much prob free..
