As i said, its not WORLDWIDE, its local shortage (or maybe Singapore as well), but certainly not worldwide. And again, take what i heard with a grain of salt as mentioned. And i never said they remove the pre-paid, heck i've even ordered one with a prepaid package from one of their MEPs.

They say that White version will take slightly longer to arrive due to it being limited, black will be the fastest.

Maxis Sunway Pyramid is like that, when i asked one of their promoters about the prepaid package they replied "what? no such thing anymore, discontinued already", but when i go to Gardens, KLCC, Mid Valley Maxis all say "most probably after Raya", two totally different answers, Maxis Sunway Pyramid is greedy, they want more people to subscribe to contract.

Even calling and emailing Maxis customer service also say this month might be able to do walk-in purchase (dunno when, i expect after raya also).

I think there are a few MEPs offering prepaid booking, only catch is u might have to wait longer as they give priority to contract bookings, also depends on the stock, but rumors say that a huge amount of stock is due to arrive in a week or two, but take this with a grain of salt.

They really are very bad at distributing stocks. So basically its all about luck eh, some people can get it 2-3 days after booking while others even more than 30 days still no call.

I was told the same thing, i booked the 16GB white, they say it could even take 2 months to arrive, which i hope not.

i booked there too, and still no call, more than 2 weeks already, i booked a 16GB White, anyway they did warn me that white color might take longer

hey guys, just got my white 16GB 3GS , waited for 2 weeks 4 days. Very happy now, not to mention that i got it with the almost extinct prepaid plan.

Seems like MEP at Ampang Point is the fastest, quite a few of those (including me) who booked there got their phones in less than 3 weeks, superb. So what are you waiting guys, raid that place!

Same here, i looked high and low for it in the mall but soon found out that it was located outside, and not to mention closed at the time (it was sunday), so i went back the next day to book.

They also told me when i booked my 3Gs that the white color will have a longer delay, but i got it in less than 3 weeks, lucky i guess.

The MEP at Ampang Point allows prepaid booking, theyre the fastest in delivering the phones too, <3 weeks.

Comments: Very fast collection, friendly staff, took only 15 minutes for the whole process, 500mb monthly free data credited into hotlink account in under 1 hour.

no, since Maxis is the ONLY legit distributor/importer of iphones, so Machines get their phones from Maxis and is also bound by Maxis terms & conditions, which is now only contract applications are allowed to book. This applies for 3GS though, for 3G i dun think u need to sign any contract.

there are a few (or maybe just one) MEP that enables booking via prepaid, thats how i got mine, Maxis service sucks so i really dont want to sign their contract, please read previous posts for more info.

simple, dont get it from apple distributors, they're the last vendors on maxis list to get the phones, go directly to Maxis Center or any MEP to book your iphone, but u must be ready to subscribe to contract, contract subscriptions apply for all official iphones in malaysia regardless of vendor.

either that or u wait until all the hype dies down or when there's ex-stock for an outright purchase.

if you havent noticed my previous posts, i too subscribe to the prepaid plan, if you go to any Maxis Centers, confirm u will not be able to take hotlink plan unless this has been changed, anyway last time i checked, still cant.

only 1 MEP that i know of is allowing booking via prepaid.

Same here, Ben was the person who handed me the iphone, total wait time was less than 3 weeks, they say 1-2 months just to be safe, so the customers wouldnt complain if it is delayed, its reasonable since theyre the only ones who are allowing prepaid bookings, my friend who booked together with me has also received his, a black 16GB while mine is white.

No, they still provide that package, its just not widely available yet, only some MEPs are allowing prepaid bookings, i know because i'm a recipient of a prepaid purchase of the 3GS, and i still get my 500mb.

Not to mention only 2 weeks wait
