Should be; once those who pre ordered gets their i3GS and when stock levels are up again I'm sure Maxis will start allowing 'outright' purchases through the prepaid method.

Since U haven't collected ur i3GS (or haf U?!), maybe can check if U can get the RM500 rebate when U make the collection. Damn... I would love to have used this RM500 rebate instead of signing up on a 12 month contract, which I did!

Y don't U give Maxis a call and check if you're entitled the rebate? It should still be given to the early adopters, at least IMO.

Yikes! Seee.. I knew it ! I should have waited till this week to go pick up me phone, then I would have gotten the RM500 discount/rebate from ur letter. Anyhow, if you've no use for that rebate letter, it'll do me good if U could pass it to me *smiles* I think I've a friend who's interested - I'll check with him and get back to U.

Some forummers have reported they've successfully made the purchase via Hotlink prepaid package; as to whether or not they've previously pre-ordered, I think they must have had.

but U can always try ur luck; U probably would have a better chance going directly to Maxis to make the purchase than purchasing from MEPs or APRs.

I get back to work for 1 day and this thread get spammed again with discussions of when Maxis can fulfill orders and bla bla bla; this thread is really not meant for that purpose; if U have any dissatisfaction with Maxis take it up with them. Nothing can be done here so it would be great if U don't vent it out here.

This thread is really meant for actual and proper discussions of the iPhone OS3.0.1 & iPhone 3GS questions but due to the nature of these spam posts, a lot of forummers have resorted to starting new threads because they just refuse to read through 40 pages of irrelevant posts.

Everybody goes through the same hassle/inconvenience. Wait times are different so I would say luck plays a role too. Also, appreciate if you can post constructively here instead of asking and commenting the same thing over and over again

Of course! All our major telcos have data plans; as to rates, U'll have to check them out separately but I think it's:-

1) DiGi's Unlimited EDGE plan = RM68 p/month
2) Celcom's Unlimited 3G plan = RM98 p/month
3) Maxis's Unlimited 3G plan (capped at 3GB) = RM88 p/month

1 month is just the estimated wait time. Some forummers receive it in 2 weeks, some in 3 weeks, some waited for almost an entire month. If you're keen to get an i3GS then just place a booking with Maxis and wait till they contact you to let U know ur phone's in

The reason KL gets it first is that it's the HQ and that's probably where all the handsets are sent off before it's being distributed to the rest of the Nation. Best if U contact the dealer U placed ur booking from and harass them; not us

U should wait for Machines to contact U. Also as ashin83 has mentioned, those stocks availability are for those who pre booked BEFORE 10th August. You did yours on the 12th.

In any case, if U aren't sure, contact Machines and check if ur iPhone 3GS has arrived.
