I've encountered the same problem as kazeko before. My Peeko scratched quite often and i noticed some white moving thing on his skin. I brought him to dr. jenny and she said they are not mites because mites cannot be seen with our naked eyes. It is most probably lice.

But no worries. dr jenny will give your hedgie this med similar to Frontline but better. smile.gif The consultation fees is only RM12. There will be extra charges if she gives you the remaining medicine to be applied on your hedgie a month later.

Just send your hedgie to her. smile.gif

i already put some frontline already... and rinsed it off 3 hours later...
can see some improvement and the hedgehog is still active and become abit happier... i think i apply on wednesday again and monitor him first...

Hope everything is well for him... and thanks for your reply... makes me feel much more relief...

Hmm actually hedgie seldom bite unless they want to taste u or feel threaten .. but if they bite u cannot pull back or they keep biting oso... from what i know u just lightly and firmly push towards them and they wont feel nice , then can teach them that don bite owner...

but everytime i let the hedgie smell my finger abit then i faster take off le LOL... also abit scared ahhahahahah

This part to pink babay:
er... i think u send to Dr. Jenny if u know where it is..
becoz if u see kandycane said... dr jenny charge around Rm 12 ++ to cure Lice...
And she is experienced somemore ...
But if u feel like buying the frontline is RM 38 ... abit expensive lo but if can cure it then worth it~~~
I cant really see gaga scratching but once in a while he got scratch la... and all the small small dandruff and lice all drop out...
then i just keep changing his bedding...

p/s : spraying frontline without getting his head wont be easy sweat.gif

Hedgie can develop dry skin very easily. Therefore, select a good shampoo that helps to relieve itchy and dry skin issue is very important.

I'm using earthbath oatmeal for kenken, over the months i nvr see any dandruff b4.

It's SHAMPOO, not MEDICINE. It helps in relieving itchiness and prevent dry skin problem, it doesnt strong until your hedgie cure instantly. Of course you need to use it for a period of time then only you can see the result.

I shower my hedgie twice a month. Bathing too frequent may cause dry skin problem too.

I don think is wise for you to bring your hedgie back sarawak for holiday.

Hedgie can get sick very easily when travel..they will really feel stress.. Imagine, normally wen we travel by car for short distance, hedgie also can vomit and diarrhea.. If u transport it using plane..i dono what will happen..

And i don think Dr Jenny's letter is valid for that purpose, jabalan perhilitan will require government vet to check on ur animals..not private vet..

Not really. So far i never had problem regard mites b4.

Lately a lot ppl found this prob, because they jus got their hoglet. And some of the breeder they do not maintain hygiene environment in keeping their hedgie..

As long as u clean the cage regularly, shower them regularly..it shouldn't be a big problem.
