Just slowly add in abit by bit.

You don't have to switch entirely.

U need to get wobust.. wodent wheel senior is too small for hedgie.. and the hole of front panel also too small for hedgie to go in.

Rebel, try crunch RC and 8in1 into small small pieces, then mix together.. biggrin.gif Mix like 80:20 ratio first...then slowly increase..

Try this way... This is how I introduce the 8 in 1 to my hedgie. Put 4 pieces of RC and 8 pieces of 8 in 1. Make sure you break the 8 in 1 into smaller pieces. Then slowly reduce the RC for a fwe days. Your hedgie will get used to it.

Get a nail clipper for animals. And clip them. BUT IF YOU'RE NOT SURE HOW TO DO IT BRING IT TO A VET to clip it.

You can hurt your hedgehog if you dunno how to clip.

You don need a animal clipper to trim hedgie nail. Jus use a normal human clipper. Using dog/cat clipper will injure the hedgie easily.

Jus hold their leg/hand firmly, then trim one by one. Jus make sure u trim the nip, if not will bleed.

I just change straight way, without slow reduction.
Example : On RC diet, if want change to 8 in 1, just stop feeding RC and replace with 8 in 1. First day got wastage, after day two and three, mine is used to it. Now currently on the new hedgehog sample from jtl. I just stop 8 in 1 and replace with sample straight. eventually they'll eat.

use a dark cloth and cover the head (may help it relax). turn it around and wait for it to stick it's leg out. if its' relax enough, it won't move too much and you can just trim the nails.
otherwise, you may need to grab it's leg, apply some pressure at the feet and hold it firmly. Then trim the nails.

beware not to cut too close to the flesh. the pinkish part with blood vessels in it. Use a normal human finger nail cutter.
