QUOTE(kazeko @ Nov 16 2009, 07:37 AM) Hmm actually hedgie seldom bite unless they want to taste u or feel threaten .. but if they bite u cannot pull back or they keep biting oso... from what i know u just lightly and firmly push towards them and they wont feel nice , then can teach them that don bite owner... i heard JimJim scratching sometimes...think will bring him to Dr Jenny by this weekend for a check up...but everytime i let the hedgie smell my finger abit then i faster take off le LOL... also abit scared ahhahahahah This part to pink babay: er... i think u send to Dr. Jenny if u know where it is.. becoz if u see kandycane said... dr jenny charge around Rm 12 ++ to cure Lice... And she is experienced somemore ... But if u feel like buying the frontline is RM 38 ... abit expensive lo but if can cure it then worth it~~~ I cant really see gaga scratching but once in a while he got scratch la... and all the small small dandruff and lice all drop out... then i just keep changing his bedding... p/s : spraying frontline without getting his head wont be easy new born hoglet is it normal to have those dandruff on their skin??is it their mummy din help them clean up properly??how to cure the dandruff? |

QUOTE(eric138 @ Nov 16 2009, 11:48 AM) It's SHAMPOO, not MEDICINE. It helps in relieving itchiness and prevent dry skin problem, it doesnt strong until your hedgie cure instantly. Of course you need to use it for a period of time then only you can see the result. i know it's a shampoo..what i mean is cuz jimjim is new born only 6 weeks old..so maybe need to bath few times only can wash off the dandruff??just my concern...I shower my hedgie twice a month. Bathing too frequent may cause dry skin problem too. |

my jimjim went for 2nd injection ytd by dr jenny...when i got jimjim from a breeder, his skin got white tiny mites and dandruff all over his body...i tried to bath him using the oatmeal shampoo..the dandruff and mites reduces but still i bring him to dr jenny for check up and she said jimjim needs injection cuz those mites are underneath his body and just injection will kill them...total 3 injections need to be given to jimjim...other than that jimjim's quills drop a lot cuz mites and dry skin..so dr jenny give some coat supplement to overcome the dryness...
btw i'm using wood pallet and wood shave as bedding...i tried to use newspaper b4 but he like to hide under it... =.= |

QUOTE(silverbolt143 @ Nov 30 2009, 02:22 PM) MMm, quite affordable then rather than buying the frontline spray...u means 3 shot in a row rite? pity you hedgie 1 shot per week...1st time still ok...but when comes to 2nd time, he knew bout it adi and roll up like a 'durian'..very hard to reach underneath his skin there for injection...Added on November 30, 2009, 10:11 pm QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Nov 30 2009, 08:07 PM) Yes, I had those problems.... but I just biar only. Clean and rearrange everyday. LOL i tried to change to use newspaper as bedding just now...and even tape all the corner...but he use his nails to scratch on top of the newspaper and create a hole on it... Yah, I know. But then I realize it is toxic when ingested. Animals like rodents, rabbits, guinea pigs will chew on the paper, and they can get lead into them. But hedgies don't chew and eat newspaper. It is better than to use wood shavings. Added on November 30, 2009, 10:16 pm QUOTE(silverbolt143 @ Nov 30 2009, 09:44 PM) i think it's safe then to use newspaper as bedding..it just that you have to take extra effort cleaning & changing the newspaper everyday... other than the fronline spray, there's other called revolution is not mistaken...dr jenny mention and recommend tat to me when i bring my hedgie for injection...just need to put 1 drop on the back of the hedgie and it can kill whatever mites on their body...u might ask dr jenny for more info...For the moment i'm using Chipsi Classic...My 2 hedgies seems enjoy sleeping on the wood shaving. They will bite, gather & bring the wood shaving inside the hiding box like building a nest and sleep onto it... However, to be frank they have been scratching all over their body which i believe is bcoz of mite since there's no sign of dry skin... My temporary solution currently is by spraying Frontline onto them...however it was hard to be done since the moment i hold them, they will struggle to let off my hands... plus i have to avoid spraying near their face area and the belly underneath also need to be spray to ensure all the mites infection are gone.... Change to newspaper seems to be good option to provide more cleaner and mites free environment...i'll give it try then This post has been edited by pink_baby: Nov 30 2009, 10:16 PM |

i feed rc 36 cuz my hedgie only about 2 mths old...but after he grow up to adult age which is ard 4 mths-6 mths old i'll change to rc32...cuz rc 36 will be fattening for him if continue feeding...
previously i bring my hedgie to dr jenny there, i asked her suggestion for hedgie diet..she told me rc is good, i also asked her about the 8 in 1 mix, she said the ingrediants inside is using those rejected chicken parts, so she said rc is better...other than that she suggested me to feed my hedgie dog kibbles, any brand but not pedigree...she gave me a small packet of sample and i tried feed my hedgie, he likes it...but anyhow Malaysia haven't got a more suitable hedgehog food available yet... |

QUOTE(weiwei89 @ Dec 9 2009, 05:58 PM) u can view the wheel at here ----> here waaa...it's very hard for me to do it myself leh... pink_baby, do u know the big engine oil bucket(water bucket is a bit steep compare to engine oil bucket, but pee n poo will easily drop from the wheel using water bucket)? u can use tat, n the bearing no nid to use the roller skate blade(expensive, but better effect, no noise at all.) jus go hardware shop u can get all the thing in the list, bearing onli few hardware shop selling, so mayb u can go bicycle shop o motor shop mayb got sell. if the bucket too slippery, u can use knife to make the surface rough. |
