Ahahaha. biggrin.gif
I've seen Huffster annoint till he fell over. Last week, he tried annointing but couldn't reach his back so he gave up. xD

Chubster whistles really soft when she knows I'm about to feed her mealies. <3

All Huffster does is huff & puff at me. He's got a bad temperament.

do you cuddle with her often? wear a top overnight and let your hog use it as her blanky so she's used to your scent biggrin.gif
if that doesnt work.. i recommend you letting hibari hook up with huffy. lol doh.gif
*
Ahahaha. The babies would be SUPER-huffy then.

QUOTE(ix3Rukia @ Jul 23 2011, 09:29 PM)
lol she pee masterr!! Later my top full with pee haha.

Well looks like she needs a HUFFY boyfriend biggrin.gif
*
Naw, hedgehogs don't pee/poo near their sleeping box. smile.gif They're clean creatures like that.

I woke Huffy up two days ago (because I was bored blush.gif ) and he wasn't too happy with me. Nope, not at all.

my hedgie doesnt like to drink water, pee oways in yellow color......will ur hedgie be the same too?  hmm.gif
*
Yes, Huffy doesn't drink much as well. Yellow pee, hard (dried up overnight) & tiny poop. Makes cleaning up difficult. mad.gif

QUOTE(nethelp @ Jul 24 2011, 07:59 AM)
my Rex drink less compare to Syu. Syu drinks a lot especially during pregnant and nursing time
*
Chubster's the same as well. She's been a pooping & peeing machine lately. I discovered that she dragged her food bowl into her hide box this morning.
Does this mean that she's nearly due?

QUOTE(Ken.B @ Jul 24 2011, 01:07 PM)
Lolz, hedgehog are smart indeed. My ginger once lie down sideways and use her paw to tumble the feeding bowl so that she can eat! Ginger the lazy girl! rclxub.gif
thumbup.gif They're definitely smarter than people think they are. laugh.gif

@mav_850 : Wah, your hedgies get a mansion to live in, huh? They look like happy hedgehogs to me. biggrin.gif

LOL, I thought it was big poop as well at first glance. xD

I was just using Clever Bot just now. It's pretty clever but the answers as still not 'human' enough.

Can't wait for Chubster to finally give birth. Her huffiness caused by the pregnancy is starting to irk me.

She's 400 gram today. REALLY round & heavy.

And that is why I said the Clever Bot isn't so human-like. xD

I found the cutest picture 2 minutes ago. Look in the spoiler tag. wink.gif

huhuhu mansion...  laugh.gif no problem coz i have space and the female love to jogging also...
but still not complete without running wheels...  sweat.gif

will try copy idea from shukri to make running wheels when have time...  notworthy.gif
how to know when your Chubster want to give birth? did you know when?  hmm.gif
can predict aaa? or any sign?  hmm.gif
*
Don't really need a wheel if your hedgie has a large space to run around. smile.gif

She weighed 340g on June 27th. Today, she's 400g.
Her poop & pee are in larger size & quantity. They're smellier as well.
Change in temperament. Chubster used to be very calm but she's been very grumpy ever since she got pregnant.
Supposedly you could feel 'lumps' on the belly but I don't pick her up much because she's very grumpy about it so I don't really know.
Her bum looks huge? She's like- pear-shaped now.
She's been eating a lot more nowaday & more frequent as well.
She did something out of character yesterday. She dragged her food bowl into her hide box.

I started counting from the day I found Huffy in her cage (27th June).
31st July is her due date. They have an average of 35 days of gestation, you see.
You can't really predict so you just prepare for the best. I'm not going to clean her cage from tomorrow onwards till the first week of August.
Cleaning her cage could stress her out & she might eat the babies.

On the other hand, maybe she's not pregnant at all. There have been cases of false pregnancies that I've read online. We'll see. biggrin.gif

I've found an ingenious way to feed my hedgies fruits. biggrin.gif
Huffy doesn't like fruits (but he did eat a bit of apple two days ago!).
Chubster eats a bit of mashed banana and annointed on strawberry.

A 5-Step Guide to Feeding Fruits to Your Hedgehog(s)
1.) Gather several mealworms in a container.
2.) Mash up a cube of your fruit (banana works like a charm!)
3.) Mix the mashed fruit and mealworms together.
4.) Sprinkle some calcium powder into the mix.
5.) Serve immediately.

Try it with crickets?
Or put a bit on top of a kibble & feed it to your little hedgie. smile.gif

Aha, now that we're talking about human illnesses, I want to bring up something to discuss about.

Can human illnesses such as cough or flu affect hedgehogs?

I had both last month and avoided going near my hedgehogs during that period.

Ew, mealworm guts. I feed mealworms to my hedgies on a spoon. They now recognise it as the 'treats' spoon. smile.gif

Naw, I feed them fruits and cooked chicken about once a week. biggrin.gif

Thanks for the tip!

I think so.

Past threads seem to die around the 100 page range as well. Why not message a mod & inquire before you create a new thread so we ca move to the new one? biggrin.gif

They tend to stress out when introduced to a new environment, so they stop eating.
Your hedgie should start eating by today or tomorrow. smile.gif

Some hedgies are really picky. My male one (Huffy) won't touch fruits/vege.
Try cooked chicken (unflavoured, of course). Just a tiny piece.
Otherwise, buy mealworms. 99% chance your hedgie will eat it.
Don't feed more than 10 a day though (that is if your hedgie eats 'em).

Good luck!

Update on Chubster : Still very defensive. Still no babies. Still very chubby.

I'd be as happy as a bee if my hedgies don't eat mealworms.

Gut-loading them is a smelly business. Every few weeks, I need to scoop 'em all out into a strainers to remove the frass and fine oats.

Sometimes, the apple starts getting mouldy after 3 days, thus I need to remove the oats around the apple as well. vmad.gif

Huffster & Chubster prefers to run off to hide whenever I bring 'em out. They don't like sleeping on my lap. xD

I'm starting to question if Chubster really is pregnant. hmm.gif

If she isn't, she's going to have to lose that weight FAST.

Ehehehe, I quickly put my hedgies down when I see the tail comes up!

LOL, wow. You buy 1kg?
I buy 400g only. It's more economical if you buy the larger packagings but I prefer fresher kibble.

If you live around Bukit Tinggi Klang area, go buy RC36 at Ramsden. It's the cheapest compared to the other two pet shop in Bukit Tinggi.

Anyone know petshops that give samples?

I read somewhere in the past Hedgehog Corner versions that feeding hedgies 100% good quality food is bad for them. I've been thinking of mixing some of Huffy's old 'Bark!' kibble into the RC36. Doubt he'll eat it but it's worth a try. xD

@ nethelp: Ick, I don't like the smell, nor the idea of tasting it. It should taste horrible. Animal food always are. xD

@ olivur: You could always repackage it & sell it to like, another hedgie owner.
