dc so much yesterday. about to give up sf4... dare say it's the most expensive ps3 game i've bought so far heh
sf4 ps3 game = RM185
sf4 pc game = RM119
hori fs3 stick = RM245
costume packs = ~RM50
That's a sheet load of currency!
The pc version, other than near instantaneous connections to other players, it is still very possible to get disconnected. Some of the random blokes i challenged in champ and rank mode already have 4-5% dc rate. Was hoping sf4 pc would not suffer the same problem. Perhaps it's my line, or my router, or a combination of screamyx and playstation server issues. But i don't understand why i can play pc strategy games without lag with local friends but can't even sustain a sf4 match consistently. Some days it's great, some days it saks. Koyak case.

I feel for you too, I am having the same issues hence I've given up on online play over PSN. What do you think of offline play? For starters if you have friends around your area you can organize a session to train SF together. Otherwise, when Alan has some friendly invites over to Outpost everyone is most invited (you just need to spend on food/drinks there to be fair).
This is his thread:
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/937715More importantly, you can make even more friends through offline play and be better at your game by sharing tips and having lagless fight experience. To get the most of my limited SF time, at home I will usually conduct online research for my character then apply what I've learned to Training Mode. Off and on I'll play online but with very low expectations to improve.
With all our broadband shortcomings, it's prudent we adapt smartly - things are NOT going to change for quite sometime.
I actually agree with rawfish, sometimes having a group of friends come over chit chat discussing on the sf4 game (while playing it of course

) can help you tremendously on your game. Every player can test and see what type of strategies can help and the spectating players can give views what went wrong or how you can improve. What should or should not do, also will curse you if you keep doing the same thing over and over again

Online game is actually good enough if your alone and theres no other players/friends joining you for a casual match. But there are times even with 4 bars there were complications with the connection (I think rawfish can vouch for that

). Only time I had little to no trouble online was with my friend locally, we had 5 bar connection but his house is like 2 km radius away only from me

All I'm saying is, if theres a chance for a group session, just go for it. Just spectating matches can help your game as you can get ideas what opponents will or will not do in it.
