If this set goes to anfieldude then he can gives a very good opinion and review.
Don't rely so much on me, since I am not good at this.
Perhaps I can just give simple comment and findings.

Off topic:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « First impression on early hours of operation is that the black is blacked than S10. Colour seems 'deeper'. Performance is much better than S10 early when the set is new. Of which i would describe early hours of S10 is awkward. But I still find the colour of B650 a little bit un-natural compared to S10. Wait till tv break in first as it's still new out of box. Added on August 3, 2009, 10:50 pmBest it's still to compare it side by side with other plasma. QUOTE(enrg @ Aug 4 2009, 10:28 AM) @ronaldjoe It's kind of like difficult for me. Thanks for the first impression. I think I speak for many people here, perhaps if possible you could post a pic with side by side comparison of the B650 vs. S10 in darkened room so we can see how the black level stacks up. Also your view after break in also appreciated. Many thanks I need to get one more hdmi converter and 'squeeze' the tv's on my cabinet only then i can post the pic 'side by side'. Btw yesterday I watched concert in dark room. It was 'great' tho it's still in early hours of operation. I ll try doing it over weekend when I am free. |

QUOTE(lightning69 @ Aug 4 2009, 10:39 AM) How is the reflection on this samsung plasma. The older samsung plasma is like a mirror. Is this set better then the S10? I am really concern about the reflection. The other thing is also the image retention. I read from one review that this new samsung plasma is very prone to image retention. Did you notice any retention from still images left on the screen after a short period of time? Yes Samsung is prone to retention. This morning I saw slight retention with my vista task panel (short period of time). On reflection, B650 has better glass as the glass is like ultra violet type that we have on front windscreen of CBU, which is purplish. 1080p 1:1 pixel mapping is better than S10. QUOTE(ronnt88 @ Aug 4 2009, 10:40 AM) hi ronaldjoe... just out of your basic 'instinct', did the Samsung or Panasonic impress you more in terms of PQ? thanks.. Colour & black level of B650 is much better. But I find S10 a bit more 'natural', or may be B650 is still new. |

QUOTE(chewkl @ Aug 9 2009, 10:11 PM) bro chewkl, I didn't ask in detail. I already got mine so dare not 'kacau' the sales person. QUOTE(putih @ Aug 9 2009, 10:53 PM) I saw the price tag was 7999, and then got rebate 1700. So, end up around 6300... Correct me if i'm wrong. But the PQ was really good May be it's as what bro putih said... |

Added on August 14, 2009, 5:02 pm QUOTE(lightning69 @ Aug 10 2009, 10:48 AM) I saw a 50S10 in the Panashop but its retail for RM6499. Not a single cents discount. What is the current price for this TV in West Malaysia now? 5.3k in Kepong as I heard. I didn't buy tho. Price of one SVS This post has been edited by ronaldjoe: Aug 14 2009, 07:24 PM |

IIRC in US it's USD1.5k and in UK it's GBP1.1k.if u looking for average performance, yes it is.. but it cant go below 20db i think. Personally I am more than happy compared the prices we have last year. Let's see what's gonna happen next year... |

QUOTE(Jcvendetta @ Sep 15 2009, 09:52 PM) bro, last time when i was using samsung lcd there is this option "just scan" where it can receive 1080p signal from PC without overscanning or underscanning. There is overscan option in S10. Please look for it.The Panny doesnt have this option and the resulted picture from my PC is overscanned! and the text is kinda blurry. Not under display. It's under some other menu. Then you can do 1:1 pixel mapping. |

QUOTE(chewkl @ Nov 4 2009, 02:39 PM) He said the "24p" means it has detected the source is 24p but will still convert to 30p or 60p as the plasma cannot display 24p. Hence the question... QUOTE(chewkl @ Nov 4 2009, 08:52 PM) That's why I was also surprised by his statement...and even more shocking he said Sammy B650 can accept and display 24p. Just for sake of info and sharing, B650 does native 24p (no conversion or anything) |
