ronaldjoe,
Thats the input signal, its not the panel refresh rates.
Again, the info is patchy when it comes to the Sammys and the Pannys.
I'll tell you why.
Panasonic struggled to implement the 48Hz and the 96Hz refresh even till last year. There is judder when viewing 24p stuff. This year, they definately fixed them, however, I'm not sure if the fixed it by improving the algo for pull down to display at 60Hz or they are now refreshing at 48Hz. On their professional monitors that came late last year, they fixed the 96Hz implementation.
Samsung, depending on the
AMP, u can get 96Hz, 100Hz and other wierd refresh rates. I have seen that when u switch on AMP, they really mess up a 24p signal, there are dropped frames and unnatural motion.
I have not viewed the B650 sets.
My advise would be shut
AMP off for all 24p stuff. I believe at worst u would get 48Hz.
Added on November 4, 2009, 11:25 pmYou're right, no plasma or LCD displays 24Hz at 24Hz, if they did almost all people would complain of a non smooth movement.
I believe a couple of projectors (earlier ones) did that and people just could not live wiht the 24p judder.
I think u will agree that if u really watch closely in the theaters u will see that the 24p judder is present, however, since the screen size overwhelms people, they tend not to notice it too much. Now, when u r back at home, thats a different story.
I think in this case Pioneers implementation is one of the best I have seen compared to most other companies (plasma and LCD that is)
