Sunshine... i wonder how the hell the killer-skin-less guy survive after the first mission and why he kill all those people?  sweat.gif

This is my interpretation of that bit

After being exposed to so much radiation, he rapidly evolved to the point that he can shift (time/dimensionally)

Unfortunately, having evolved that capability, also effected him psychologically (dementia perhaps)

He saw the crew trying to re ignite the sun as a threat to his existence so...

The car park scene... WOW

There r silly moments (the anvil comes to mind) but that's Sam Raimi

Well, what is the MORAL of the story

Never look DOWN of the aged!! tongue.gif

Go to this movie with an open mind and you won't dismiss it

Okay, okay, before you BOO me, the way that Captain Babbosa and crew turns into the living dead was cool and spooky (especially when Kiera first discovers their misery)

Right, RIGHT??! nod.gif

Yes, Deadbird can be spooky.

Glad you survive your viewing!! nod.gif

Reminds me of a trailerm I've been seeing. The trailer is for a cowboy horror movie.

It is about people who had start to move west for new land and a small group of them encountered something strange. As they camp out, their numbers keep diminishing... There is a survivor a young girl but she is catatonic...

Looks like vampire who burrows underground, and they come out at nite to feed

Cannot remember the name, keep seeing the trailer on recent dvds though....

Hi all.

For the loves of HORROR. Please go watch District 9.

It is NOT a traditional horror movie, but it has enough horrifying elements in to keep horror fans satisfied.

Some parts of the movie were so freaky, I almost stood up and left the cinema before the end 9an boy am I glad I didn't)

Very good movie. Watch it! It is truly to be enjoyed in the cinema!

Yes it is

I just rewatched it on BD.

It is great and the end is a little mindbending

Wonder if John Doe is Kevin Spacey's first big role...

Hmmmm....

30 Days of Night (BD)

Wow! What a great movie!!

Great story. Fantastic description of vampire (vampire are NOT DROP DEAD GORGEOUS creatures [i.e. Interview with the Vampire, TWILIGHT *Groan*] to "die" for [no pun intended] but vicious BLOOD DRINKING creatures of the night!!)

I really have NOTHING negative to say about this movie, great cast, great direction and great sets!

PQ and AQ is good on BD

Interesting to see Ben Foster (he plays Archangel in X-Men 3 also am looking forward to Pandorum which is being marketed as Horror in Space [like the original Alien] where he plays the lead) in this playing a REALLY weird character.

Ending is a little unpredictable and for the romantics out there, please make sure there are tissues handy.

As a horror movie, I give this a 4/5 stars

Nuff said

I'm a huge horror fan.. I've seen a lot of horror movies... but usually none of them could scare me or at least make me feel fear for a tiny bit except

THE MIST (2007)
Watched this on Astro.. based on the book by Stephen King and of course, Stephen King is a horror genius. OMG this movie is fricken scary... not scary with the shock factor but scary atmosphere.. it makes you feel how they feel, trapped in a store, outside it's all foggy and you don't know what's out there.. you have to see this to know.. awesome cinematography that sets the mood

DEAD SNOW (2009)

This one is a norwegian movie.. not scary at all but zombie and gore lover like me will DEFINITELY enjoy this one.. gallons of blood and lots of shredded limbs and intestines.

Welcome to the thread.

Wow! A Gal with nerves of Steel! Who would have thunk!! tongue.gif

Well, if you want horror with a little of comedy (a change of pace) try Shawn of the Dead (2004)!

Enjoy!! nod.gif

I suppose there are elements of horror in that! (The rape scene and also when Kevin Bacon kena the flame throw and his burn skin flaked off)

So would it be safe for me to assume you watched Starship Troopers in the said mini Verhoeven ( I miss that guy) marathon?

is there anything scarier than what u guys already quote here ?
i find myself hard to be frighten by horror movies nowadays .
they're more towards shocking parts an unexpected parts instead of really scary stuff .
*
Hmmmm...... Monsh, sounds like you have a serious case of fatigue-us overindulgenceness!!

Symptoms include feeling of being worn out, bored, dulled and wearied.

If left untreated.....

Treatment

Take copies of Sound of Music, Pollyanne, ... oh just get all animation works of Disney, lock yourself in a room with a VCD(it STILL exist)/DVD/BD player, and watch the said works over and over again.

You know you are cured when you cannot help but sing My Favorite things, or theme song from any of the Disney Animations tongue.gif

Creepshow (1982)

I have to tell you that I'm getting a kick out of the new BD format, because a lot of hard to find movies are being reissued on the said format and is readily available again (some are gems, others...)

Case in point, Creepshow! I never saw it in the cinema when it first came out, not on VHS, not on LD not on DVD until now!

5 creepy stories all round up into one movie.

The movie started with a father "telling off" his son for getting a copy The Creepshow comic. He went as far as to slap his son in the face (Shock, Shock, an "Ang Moh" hitting a kid, how can this be?!! tongue.gif)

The father then proceeded to throw the offending material into the thrash can (physical one kiddies! Not the one found on your computer desktop!! smile.gif )

A strong wind blew over the said thrash can and we see the cover of the comic!

Then we see the kid sitting on his bed (we can still see his father's red hand print on his face) and the creep keeper floating out side the kid's bedroom window, laughing, the kid smiles (this is THE CREEPIEST kid smile, I SWEAR!!)

Let the spook (relatively speaking, I know how JADED some of you are) begin

I've only watch 3 out of the 5 short stories, they are okay. Surprise to see people like Ed Harris (He NEVER had much hair did he), Stephen King (I never knew he acted) and Leslie Nielsen (I keep expecting him to do something funny!!)

Will keep you guys posted after I had finish watching this tonight! smile.gif

Nice to have you back!

Thought we were suppose to be partners in crime on this thread!! tongue.gif

If you ask 10 person, 5 might like it, 5 might not.

Is it a remake (1959) same title.

It is worth one viewing. After you have watched it once it does not survive the second viewing.

Enjoy!

The 1959 version is good but for me it's not horror enough. Maybe because House on the Haunted Hill is more toward inner-demon type of enemy, so it kinda bored me. Any suggest for movie that is on same level with Evil Dead 1 & 2?
*
Truthfully, the closes movie to Evil Dead 1 & 2 I can think of would be The Blair Witch Project. Bare in mind that when Evil Dead first come out, it was considered very progressive! (I'm getting crucified for this)

Hope this helps!

Creepshow (1982) Part Deux

Okay kiddies, finished Creepshow yesterday night (or was that early this morning).

It's great!

To reiterate, all in all there are 5 short stories namely,

1) Father's Days (Where is my cake. WHERE IS MY CAKE)

2) The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill (Stephen King an ACTOR????! tongue.gif)

3) Something to Tide you Over (Leslie Nielsen! In a serious role!!? Hard to imagine AFTER all the Naked gun movies!! nod.gif)

4) Crate (Who is the monster??)

5) They Creep Up on You (Cockroaches anyone, ANYONE?????!)

A Stephen King and George A Romero collaboration

Lovers of Evil Dead, you find this amusing.

Strongly recommended.

Enjoy
