Hi
Could some kind person please PM or reply me a good shop in KL or PJ that I can buy good realiable add on spotlights for my front bumper. I need something bright and solid.

Any recommendations would greatly be appreciated. Thanks

'Hella' brand of spotlights are widely used by 4x4 guys. They r bright, tough and cost bout RM170-230 PER piece. Popular models include the Comet range. U can search in Automotive Garage here, mudah or zerotohundred sites n see best price. Install normally cost extra RM 30-50.

If u put big size Hella Comet 500, u may need to put cover on when not in use. I think there are some laws against big spotlight use. Maybe some forumers here can elaborate, or check with your installer.

Cheers

I am also looking for the top-up cover for my Ranger. Planning to look at Thailand but somehow feel lazy to go there since can get it from KL shop also, just the price is higher than in Thailand.

My Ranger first service should be on the first 1000km but until now havent send to service. Now its almost 2800km. Is it okay? And how much is the cost for the first service, normally?

Making trip to Thailand is worth if u wan to add lots of after-market stuff. If just 1/2 item, dont think its worth the trip unless u got extra agenda drool.gif

As for first service, I don't know what u r waiting for rclxub.gif If u wan u can wait until 5000 Km and your engine still wouldn't fall off yet but there may be some little debris in new engines that may damage engine wall, that's why it's rcmd to do the 1000 Km oil change.

How much for service? Hmm, don't know. I know Toyota has a price estimate for each service in a chart they display on the counter. Call and ask your SC lo if u really wan to know the damage.

I didnt send to service yet because I received the new Ranger about 2 weeks before Raya.. There is no Ford service center at my hometown Bahau. The closest is at Seremban and I dont know where is the Ford service in Seremban.
To send it to the Jalan Ipoh SC must make the appointment first but I cant send it during weekdays since I get to the office early before 8am. Hopefully there is available slot for service next week because this week I am also not available due to work activities.

Anyway, I am looking for the top-up cover for the new Ranger. Any recommendation with price, location? I think that is the first thing I need to get. Later will check on rims, tyres, air horn, front light.

Got sticker on the windshield says 1st service is 1000km. But the sales rep told me if there is no problem, can wait until 10,000km then go for service. Have any of you got the iPad voucher yet, for the 500 early birds?

Oo. I did checked with my SA, they confirm can go to 10k. I dont get any ipad voucher, so i must be no early bird tongue.gif

I am also looking for solution for truck cover. Basically I'm looking for these 2 options:

1) Sports lid/ Top-up
Pro: looks nice, sporty can match body color.
Cons: Couldn't carry tall items, lose out on truck versatility.

2) Roller shutter type
Pro: Can carry tall items
Would the roller shutter making noise when moving?

How waterproof is the truck bed area with these 2 options? I saw there is a gap on the tailgate door. How do we make sure there is no water leaking in?

Appreciate any feedback and tips. 1st timer 4x4 truck here smile.gif

cut throat is one thing, warranty is another. not sure bout Ford, but Toyota SC told me if I want to maintain engine warranty, must be serviced by Toyota, at least til warranty over. But that's Toyota, and price is ok i think for standard service. My last service few months ago (5-6 litre of diesel mineral engine oil, oil filter, inspection incl car wash) cost me RM160.

The new Ranger is new breed, and I doubt external mechanics know the truck engine and components well enough to do a proper job, that's the risk you will have to consider if send to them.

That could be the abs kicking in. A sudden deep brake or just normal braking to slow down? Either that or it could be the disc rotors are warped causing uneven braking capability thus rattling your brake pedal when braked. Go get it check out.

Agree with kirakun. As I wrote in the other topic whr u asked this question, Hilux ABS is sensitive a bit. Go over speed bump will also 'rattle'. So if its ABS, then that's not a problem. But if disk rotor warped, gotta change lo.

Best is take to Toyota to check la.

Guys, want to inquire. and specialist shop for 4x4's?

Getting a colorado and i want to pimp it up.
Some bigger rims, those offtrack tyre's, (the ones that have the large ass width and make it look real fierce)
Would 22 inch be over kill for the colorado?

also want to heighten the car..need those special suspensions right? Where can i get those? Dont want to drive to thailand..somewhere in KL/Selangor area would be good.

Thanks alot guys!
