I started to use Mac as there is a Mac culture in the design industry. I took the plunge to have an iBook as a learning tool to prepare myself for the real world outside. But still back then, the Mac is just a computer too me, no different from PC as I am still doing my design on the desktop PC.

Indeed when I'd stepped into design working environment, everything runs on Apple and Mac, and I felt glad that the iBook purchase was a correct decision. An old eMac was given to me to accomplish works from webdesign to printart during my course of internship. Suprise suprise! I cannot believe how powerful this low speed eMac is compare to the computer at my home. That is the time that I know Gigahertz doesn't mean everything. But more, how come just a 1GB RAM allows me to run Photoshop, Illustrator and Quarkexpress together so smoothly? Memory management in Mac OSX is amazing. How bout Expose? Having runs different apps at the same time with so many workfiles was such a headache without it. My workfiles are all images and graphics, Expose allows me to easily identify the file I'm looking for visually rather than reading texts and filenames. Hey I''m a designer, I'm good with graphics not words. Working as a team require me to share files with my colleagues all the time. Networking among Mac system is snapping easy! I can even search for file that I need from other Mac quickly.

The iBook used to be a toy to me. Not anymore after spending 20 hours a day with the eMac. Mac have become part of my life. Part of my love for art and design.

And that was my experience 3 years ago, working in Mac OSX 10.3 Panther. With Snow Leopard and Intel-based Macs the experience are even greater. I never look back since then. Whether it's Vista or Windows 7, it doesn't matter anymore. I have found what I wanted.

It's weird sometimes how often we labour ourself when we try so simplify things. We always find ways to make our life easier. Find quickest solution to a problem. Working less while gaining more.

But when we work on a PC, WE WORK FOR THE PC. When I work on a Mac, THE MAC WORKS FOR ME.
