@DikkieD

You may try the steps I mentioned, as long as it comes out as "no-contract" and
"prepaid" and "booking ref no"!

LaiN87
If ur on prepaid, try steps I mentioned on post #210.

Yup, it worked. However, when I arrived at the final stage I was asked for my TAC number. I only have the original hotlink scratchcard which doesn't include a TAC number. Since I am currently residing in The Netherlands I cannot have that number send to my phone, since the 012-hotlink number is not working here in NL sad.gif

Gotta try and find that Tac number smile.gif

Cheers

What???? Netherlands?? Well seems like u gotta get back here then u can only register. as for the TAC no, you may click the "send to my phone"..... gd luck

ACPP for the iPhone is only available to countries, in which the retail apple store has officially step its foot in that said country (for example australia)
And Singapore. Wonder whether we can use theirs?

I paid my RM200 deposit at Machines@1U using my MBB Visa Debit, which is the same as credit cards. And no Visa transaction fee was charged.

Would u be able to receive the phone by 31st July 2009 @ Machines??

guys, called the maxis centre at 1U, they told me they have plenty of stock on launch day because they will be doing a road show from 31st till 2nd. So if you havent paid the deposit i would suggest go for maxis centre rather than machines. You can later buy the accesories from machines if you feel guilty dumping them lol.
*
I do agree. In my opinion, Maxis has the priorities as they serve the mass bigger than Machines.

@tony9973

What do you mean by booking online at maxis centre?

It's either you book online and specify the pick-up point to be Maxis centre/Machines OR you go straight to Maxis centre and place an order there.

Either way, wherever you pay your deposit is the place to collect your iphone on 31st.
*
Most of the Maxis Centre has online pc, so the staff there can help u to register online and you may pay the deposit there and then.

guys, for all we know the order for i3GS may not be as great as tot?? Since the i3G was only launched in Mar and those who signs it under contract may not want to upgrade yet. Hence Maxis is still accepting orders / bookings. This is just my opinion.

Well we'll know this in less than 10days time. My main concern now is only how long do I need to queu on the collection date? doh.gif

suits yourself, mate and i ain't gonna refute anything, anymore. i'm too engrossed, watching the entire dvd collection of "how i met your mother" that i just got from JB hi-fi  tongue.gif  tongue.gif  tongue.gif
i doubt that it will end on a friday. maxis centres are strategically placed in shopping complexes and weekends is the best time for consumers to patronise these places and register their interest.
*
Well if that's the case, Maxis may not have meet their target.... yet

I'm not too sure about Maxis launch, but in Singtel's case, priorities of stock is given to those who pre-book their units. If ur seriously keen in getting it, best u book urs today!!!....while u got another 5 days to make deposit payments, so u can decide along the way....

I did speak with 123 Maxis over the weekend and they assure me that as long as U've paid the deposit, you're guaranteed a phone.  I did ask them, what happens if the phones are out of stock and he was very positive that will not happen
Well, this suggests that they should have more stocks than order, as I believe the order is lower than expected. reasons:

1) i3G was only launched in March and ppl are still tied to contracts
2) Slower economy
3) ignorant consumer (don't know anything about the new model)

Just my opinion thou.... So there should be aplenty to go around!!! thumbup.gif

I was told my Maxis CS that the receipt would be suffice as I have yet to receive the confirmation e-mail since day one, even thou I've clicked "resend confirmation email" numerous times. Most important no is the booking reference no!

@tink,

@jonest,
Don't think I wanna queue with the rest so I probably only go pick up the i3GS on Monday next week or something; I am afterall, not too excited about this collection and definitely do not want to queue for aeons; esp since I've to drag my dad with me to make the phone collection.
*
Well I'm keeping my fingers crossed on collection day. Hopefully there won't be so many enthusiasts here in JB compared to KL. If ur going on Monday, hope they don't repeat the same thing happened in SG!!!

And I don't think the confirmation e-mail is "super needed" as some of us didn't get it. Make sure u got the reference no.

I asked and reconfirmed twice. 0% extra for credit card usage in Machines.
I reconfirmed today also. He told me that I will be confirmed getting an iPhone 3gs according to the "paper". But no matter how I see it is Machines and all other shops which is not Maxis don't have a quota and will never show "fully booked". Worried ohmy.gif
*
Normally reputable and big corporations will not charge 1%/2%/3% on credit card transactions as it's unlawful. Those found to charge the additional fees on customers could jeopardise their credit card machine "tow" back by banks / merchant. Normally, the "small time" cos levy the fees.

If u have not place ur deposit @ Machines, sugg u head down to Maxis centre... it's assured that they will deliver the phones from 31st July onwards!

today the maxis guy called me.
asking me which package am i choosing... he say that if i'm choosing the iValue or iData package, i'll need to go over to change my sim package before Friday so that on Friday i will just need to pay and collect my iPhone.
They had under estimate on the bookings... thats why now is worried on Friday will be very packed and take long time to do all the transfer / register ...
*
Seems like a great idea if ur planning to change plans, then it would be easier and faster on collection day.

Well guys, I can't understand why ru guys speculating that the stock won't be here on 31st July?? If it's true, Maxis would have informed those that prebook otherwise their centre would be swarmed with angry people then!!! They wouldn't want a bad publicity for such an exclusive product launch! After all, it's just less than 2 days!!! 46hrs 18mins till 0900 31st July to be exact!

Remember those mentioned that the launch is on 28th July earlier? Were there any launching or events? Perhaps press release & preview to the press members first then they got an article or review on 31st July then ah?

For those booking for registered maxis center (NOT places like Gardens, KLCC, Pavilion... etc. etc.), it's best if you call them again to confirm your booking.

I just came back from Hello Station to see if their stocks arrived and if I can pick up tomorrow. They said they can't find my name in the system. *blink*
He then made a call to Maxis HQ to confirm my booking, and true enough, it was there. So he entered my name manually into the system, guaranteeing that I'll get my iPhone tomorrow.

Lesson: CALL AND CONFIRM YOUR BOOKING AT THE STORE/CENTER YOU GOT IT FROM TODAY.
*
It seems like a good idea to head there now!!! and confirm everything, change plan if needed..... go go go....
