Hi all. Any Legend of Zelda fans in Malaysia?

The reason when I bought the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) console in 1986 is because of this game.

Looking forward to hear from you all.

Cheers.

On NES, I started with Legend of zelda and then Adventure of Link.
On SNES, A link to the past (I still think is the best game of this series).
Game Boy, Link's Awakening (not finished).
On N64, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.
On Gameboy colour, Link's Awakening DX
Gameboy Advance, Oracle of Season and Oracle of Ages.
Gamecube, The Wind Waker.

Each time, I buy a new console is when the Legend of zelda game is released.

I had won Zelda 1 and Zelda 2 on NES emulator and I would say ITS A ONE HELL HARD GAME... without faq i dun think i can figure out what to do in Zelda 1. Zelda 2 ending boss is kinda hard too.

As for Ocarina of Time, its a good game. Only thing that dissapoint me is, the zelda main theme does not exist. Haih....

I only played Majora's mask for a while. So dunno its good or not.

And yes, I agree A Link to The Past is the best zelda i had played. I do not own a GC, so can't play Wind Waker........... sob sob...

I know the music is good. But the theme song is important. It's like the game's identity. I can't imagine playing MGS without the theme. Theme song gimme a nostalgic feeling and the urge to continue the game. Well, its just for me.

Zelda 1. You know that there is two quests in this game. By type zelda as your name, you can start the 2nd quest. 2nd quest is harder but if you try hard enough you can get through.

Zelda 2. Do you mean Dark Link is tough to beat?

You know that there are pc emulators for NES, SNES, N64 and GBA. You can play all the LoZ games until Gameboy Advance.

Try to play Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link. I think the best way to play is to get a NES emulator and play the game on the pc.

Majora's Mask is the PAL limited edition with the gold cartridge. First I have to find where I keep the cartridge.

Legend of zelda. The first game of this series. What makes me like this game is you are able to go around hyrule, building your strength and weapon at the same time. The worst thing of all is the additive background music played in the dungeon level. Until you played that tune, I can recognised that it is the dungeon level music. Scary huh.

For Zelda 1, the hard part is finding the dungeons. I still remeber there's a part where u supposed to burn bushes to reveal the dungeon. All the bushes look the same to me. Without FAQ, i really dunno how to find it.

In default difficulty, the Phoenix and Dark Link is kinda hard to beat. At least at the first time u met them. The dungeons are hard to beat as well.

And, I played all the Zelda Series on emulators. GEHEHEHE....

LOZ. Yup. You have to burn bushes, bomb walls on cave and use the whistle. Find the heart containers and check out which shop sells cheap price on certain item. As you have more hearts, you able to acquire the white sword and then the magic sword. On certains dungeons, you to find the secret items which will help to go to the next room. I like the idea of completing the 8 dungeons first before you are able to go to the Final dungeon. You need to draw a map for the level because you are going into underground tunnels.
On the second quest, I have to use the whistle on almost every screen to find the dungeon.

You need time to build up your experiences points so that you can choose to use for your attack, life or magic. As you walk around Hyrule, when you meet the enemies. It change and you are now in a sidescroll mode. (Did Final Fantasy stole this idea?)
Phoenix. Used thunder spell (to break the armour) and then used jump spell. I am not sure you enough magic left to used shield spell as well.
Dark Link. I used the trick to just sit on the far side of the screen and squat then
just jab as shadow link as he rushes to you.

FF is rpg and you have to point and click during the fighting scene.
LOZ is adventure where you can control the hero in a fighting scene.

As you are aware that the latest FF series is having more and more cg cut-scene.
As for LOZ is still at normal rate like the Wind Waker.

If you asked me to choose I think both are good and depend what you fancy to play at that time.

Legend of zelda. It is the first game that have a battery backup. It comes in a gold colour case. I bought this game as a second hand in sg wang 1st floor from the a shop called Pineapple Computers. At that time, you can go there to play NES and Sega Genesis games and pay an hourly rate.

huh? since when nintendo disappoints us with zelda series?

well, that miyamoto(rola!) is really damm creative...i especially like the FANTASTIC dungeons...soooo creative puzzles...it even beats the half-life 2 and even tetris i think....

and who can forgot in OoT when the ending was THA BEST!!! MOST UNPREDICTABLE!!! most EPIC! (not like the alexander movie, so ghey no epic) and forgot the cool face animations in HL2, becoz in zelda: ww the emotions shown makes the HL2 characters wanna cry...wait they dont cry do they? tongue.gif

Shigeyu Miyamoto has passed the Zelda torch to Eiji Aonuma.

Eiji is the new head of Zelda since The Wind Waker but Shigeyu Miyamato is still in the position of giving feedback on the direction of the Zelda games.

I played the first 2 Zelda on Famicom(NES) before, but only managed to finish the first one. Then during SFC age, "A link to the Past" had kept me and my bro playing it again and again. But too bad, we couldn't collect all the heart containers... This game is HARD! doh.gif

Yeah, like other user, I missed out both "Ocarina of Time" and "WindWaker", the two graphic-improved Zelda games... No money for N64 and GC...

In my view, "A link to the Past" is the best. Fun to play, to explore, to collect items. Oh yah, this series is famous with its music theme and also that "Golden sword". Hah, the best ARPG series I had ever play! Great! thumbup.gif

Zelda 1 - Still play this games now and then. biggrin.gif

Zelda 2 - Adventures of Link is pretty tough. You need to spend time building up your Attack, Life and Magic to the max before facing the bosses of the palace. Let me know if you need any help and I will try my best. blush.gif

Zelda 3 - I think I managed to get up to 22 or 23 heart containers. Did you manage to get four bottles, converted your boomerang to a magic boomerang? drool.gif

Did not finished Ocarina of time and The Wind Waker yet.
Since i bought the Gamecube with the wind waker package that comes with Ocarina of time and Ocarina of time master quest, got to find time to play them. wink.gif

Very true, Navlink. Further more,
Zelda1 - freedom to wander around and retrieve the fragments of the
Triforce from the eight dungeons.
Zelda2 - When fighting enemies and going into caves or palaces, you are switch to
side scroll mode.

News on The Minish Cap
The US version of The Minish Cap, which is already out in Europe and Japan, will get a severe update on the text part. This will probably help clear up some of the inconsistencies in the game.

The reason behind this, and the fact that Europe got it before the US, was because Europe needed a big title on the handheld market. This is most likely because the DS is not released before Christmas, so they need something to boost the handheld market over here.

It did happened when Nintendo and Phillips went into partnership. The original idea was to develop a CD add-on for the SNES. However, when they saw the way SEGA went after using the same concept with their Mega Drive, this project was put on ice.

Nintendo had already given Phillips the permission to create new games using some of their most exclusive franchises, Zelda included.

The results of this were the three Zelda games for the Phillips CD-i console, and
the name of the games are Wand of Gamelon, Faces of Evil and Zelda's Adventure.

For N64 console, it seems that only Nintendo exclusive games are selling. This cause other companies to stay away from this console.

I am waiting for Kid Icarus to come out a new game, if ever.

The year for Legend of Zelda.

The Legend of Zelda for GBA, The Adventure of Link for GBA, Four Swords Adventures for GameCube, and The Minish Cap for GBA all came out this year.

But we all know what we are looking forward to. May 2005, with the final unvieling of the Zelda game many have waited a long time for.

Back to Zelda... So the next Zelda game will be launched next year? Or 2006? I only saw the preview clip of it. This time they used the more mature-style 3D modelling, but Link still looks cool with that sword. Anyway, Zelda is famous with its ARPG style with many interesting gameplay. Who cares for the graphic? laugh.gif

Rumour on Zelda for DS.
The Zelda team is already planning Four Swords for the Nintendo DS. This game will have a lot of connectivity and feature a lot of interaction between both screens. It will be interesting.

Eiji Anouma on story and gameplay of the new LOZ: We are focusing more on giving the game a very realistic tone, as you could see in the video we showed [at E3], and it's heavily influenced by Ocarina of Time. As development goes on, we will be adding new details that have worked in other titles, so we can come up with a very complete game.

In the February issue of Nintendo Power they have some information about Zelda 2005. The information said that fighting on horseback will be a major part of the game, confirmed that the game will be playable at E3 in May, and also said the game will be more mature, more intense, and more dangerous.

Time line of the Legend Of Zelda shows how the Zelda games fall into place.

If you play the Adventure Of Link, you need to travel by sea to go from West Hyrule to East Hyrule. During that time, there was storm and you got wash up on the beach of Koholint Island.

Some comments from a fan on the US Version of The Minish Cap.

I am sad to report Nintendo lied in every way about the "bonus" features or better translations. For those of you hoping about a solution to the Third House Side Quest, there is none. Mystery in Link's Room: not solved. To be frank, it was all a marketing scheme, as I claimed months ago. The US version has nothing superior or extra than any other version.

The cart sticker sucks. The cart sticker is this ugly red, whereas both Japan and Europe got nice artwork. The manual's story, though, is not the same as the Japanese or European version. So that's one major difference I found.

A list of expectations for the forthcoming GCN Legend of Zelda.
It is time to show the power of Nintendo's Gamecube. No need to worry about the limitation of the game size since it is using a cd-rom now.

1) Full motion video.
Honestly, the intros of the past Zelda games have been little static image stories. I would like to see a REAL intro with proper cinematic storytelling and introduction; and cut scene to continue the story telling.
2) Horseback Battle with a boss.
Horseback fighting? Will it be interesting? You're going to run along, and maybe stop, press B to hit a bad guy, and move on. What about a Boss battle on a horseback.
3) Voice Acting.
Other games have moved onto spoken dialogue, it is time to replace text reading and hear Link speaks. We have already heard him screaming as he slashes away with the sword but now it is time for him to speak.
4) Bring back the Dungeons.
Zelda games today are lacking in dungeons. Bring back the good old times.
5) A Realistic World.
From the movie trailer, we are able to see the gorgeous world of Hyrule. I hope this will be including in the game.
6) Orchestrated Soundtrack with CD Quality Audio.
Final fantasy is doing it. Come on Nintendo, get an orchestra into the recording studio to produce good soundtrack.
7) A new final boss(es).
We know Ganon will never win and it can be kill by silver arrows. No more Ganon.
8) End the Traditional Storyline
I hope it is not about collecting three objects to get the Master Sword or unifying the shards of triforce to meet the final boss.
9) A good Ending.
Get some ideas from the Final Fantasy's ending.
10) Harder enemies.
The Legend of Zelda with blue wizzrobes and Iron Knuckles. Adventure of Link with Iron Knuckles and Sopranos.
11) A Great Epic Story.
That's all I really want the most. I value a good storyline. I know Zelda will have great gameplay. I hope this game pushes the envelope.
12) New Playable Characters.
Playable characters like Princess Zelda or Sheik or Oni Link.
13) Time for love.
We all know that there is a romantic thing between Link and Zelda. It is time for us to see it come true.

wow!!!!! damm great!
if that's what we all can get in LoZ i will buy the GC right away!!!!!
want to add:
+ Beautiful world - realistic world just not enough...i live in realistic world....full of garbages and smokes!
+ add a bit of RPG - maybe level up on strength, dexterity...
+ add some stealth missions...hihi...SOME not MANY...
+ more great music that can fight the John Williams one...
+ not just horseback maybe we can ride giant flying eagle to oversee Hyrule???? THAT WILL BE DARM COOL!
+ Return of Navi the fairy!!! YEY!

well something about the motion video...in the past games, even with the in-game cutscene...i can feel the emotion showing (OOZING!) from the characters...like the OoT and the recent cartoonish-but-beats-doom3 emotion expression...

Q & A with the Zelda Team
Nintendo Power | Volume 189 | Page 73
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NP: This title is the third game in the Four Sword series. Did you plan it as a trilogy from the beginning?

Hidemaro Fujibayashi (Capcom): We did not think to develop a trilogy from the beginning. When we developed the first Four Swords game for GBA, we created a new Hyrule legend that said that a long time ago, evil Vaati brought crisis to Hyrule and people sealed that evil. We had some thought that we wanted to carry over that story into future titles some way.

NP: Four Sword games tend to be more action-oriented than other Zelda games. Is this intentional?

HF: No. Every game was developed based on the concept we chose. In the Four Sword series, multiplayer play is important and I had a big wish to create a vivid expression of Link's moves in a 2-D art style. Those important concepts may generate a more action-style game impression compared to others.

NP: What inspired the Minish idea?

HF: This is the result of my consideration about what is a new idea of a game field for Link. Current vs. past, forward vs. reverse, seasons, adult vs. child, etc...that kind of pair concept is a very important element of Zelda games, I think. In this consideration I reached the big vs. small concept and the small people's world this time. After more deep ideation, I found out that this pair can work as a good combination and could create the interesting Minish world.

NP: In the prologue to this game, there are some hints that The Minish People brought a golden light into Hyrule. Does this relate to the Triforce legend?

HF: Golden light is a very, very old legend of Hyrule and nobody knows how it relates to the Triforce legend. It is still a big mystery whether it has some relationship with the Triforce, which is the most important element in the Legend of Zelda series.

NP: We see many familiar characters in this game (even the kid with the dripping nose from The Wind Waker!). Did you refer to any particular Zelda game for development of this game?

HF: In a kind of reverse way. We created the world of the Minish Cap first, then chose characters to fit this world.

NP: The game's music is very impressive. How much of it is classic Zelda music, and how much of it is new?

HF: Classic is 70% and original is 30%, I think (TSA Note: Sound test shows 52 songs, 30% are not original). The composer for this game is also a big Zelda fan. He does not want to miss the opportunity to relate key Zelda music elements to key points of gameplay, which will make Zelda fans say "Yes!" That perhaps explains the percentage balance.

NP: Ezlo is one of the most original characters ever to emerge in the Zelda universe. How did you come up with the idea of fusing a hat with a bird?

HF: I wanted to have a speaking hat, not a hat with a bird. Based upon my request, the character designer needed a very difficult long time to achieve the final form. The design of Ezlo fulfilled my needs - it has a good sense of existence on the GBA screen and is flexible to dynamic action and moves.

NP: Many gamers think of the bosses from A Link to the Past as some of the best in Zelda history. So it's got to be a challenge to provide new surprises in boss design. How did you go about creating Minish Cap's boss bosses? And if Ganon were to fight Vaati, who would win?

HF: Ganon is the villain from the Triforce story. We thought the Four Sword story needed a different evil than Ganon, so we created Vaati. Overall, bosses are designed to be good for Four Sword play. Ganon vs. Vaati...I never thought about. Perhaps Ganon is more powerful, because of the power of the Triforce.

NP: This title is not the first collaboration between Nintendo and Capcom. How did the development proceed this time?

HF: After the Capcom team presented the core idea and Nintendo agreed to it, we held progress meetings almost every month until completion.

NP: Are you already having discussions about another Zelda collaboration? If so, which platform are you looking at? Is it for DS?

Eiji Aonuma (Nintendo): As with previous development projects, Mr. Fujibayashi's team has done an excellent job. The Zelda universe that his team creates is bringing very good ideas and stimulates Nintendo's team a lot. I would like to continue to work with his team, but we have not decided on any platform for the next project.

NP: The New 3-D Zelda game shown at E3 was very exciting. Could you tell us your vision for the future of the Zelda universe?

EA: Since the first Zelda game, which was created by Mr. Miyamoto, "responsive intuitive interactivity" has carried throughout the Legend of Zelda series. I always keep this in my mind as the importance of the Zelda universe. Players make things happen by controller moves in gameplay. It is critical that the controls respond to the players' intentions and that the controls are easy to understand quickly. I think that as long as we can keep this "responsive intuitive interactivity," a variety of doors are open to the Zelda universe and it is not necessary to pursue traditional Zelda style. We are preparing big exciting things. Stay tuned.

I watched the new trailer, it blows my mind. If this new game is going to look exactly like the new trailer, this game is going to rocks!!!

There will be a swimming scene in this game. You can see clearly through the water - the level of detail going into the water effect.

Release date for Christmas 2005?

The official website of legend of zelda has a face-lift : www.zelda.com/universe

Do you guys think the new Zelda game will make Link to have the power to transform or control the animals in this game?

Because in the trailer, we could see cats, dogs, horse, hogs and a wolf at the end of the new trailer.

In Majora's Mask he was able to transform to a goron, a zora or a deku. In wind waker he able to control like Armos Statue and Medli by using the Command Melody.

So far there is no news on this but who knows what Nintendo will do. biggrin.gif

Currently, Nintendo is voice casting for this new game. According to the list at imdb.com, Ganondorf is indeed a character in this game. Great news for all the zelda fans. biggrin.gif

Legend of Zelda GCN's story from E3 ...

When an evil shadow stretches from the heart of Hyrule to its peaceful borderlands, a young farm boy named Link must awaken the hero ... and the animal ... within.

Features
.When Link travels to the darkened land of Hyrule, he transforms into a wolf and must scour the land with the help of a mysterious being named Midna.

.Ride into battle against troops of foul creatures, using an incredible horseback combat system, then take on massive bosses that must be seen to be believed.
.Many puzzles stand between Link and the fulfillment of his quest, so players must sharpen their wits as they hunt for weapons and items.
.Characters include Link, Zelda, Midna and many others, both new and old.

Link, a young man raised as a wrangler in a rural village, is ordered by the mayor to attend the Hyrule Summit. He sets off, oblivious to the dark fate that has descended upon the kingdom. When he enters the Twilight Realm that has covered Hyrule, he transforms into a wolf and is captured. A mysterious figure named Midna helps him break free, and with the aid of her magic, they set off to free the land from the shadows.

Link must explore the vast land of Hyrule and uncover the mystery behind its plunge into darkness. As he does, he'll have to enlist the aid of friendly folk, solve puzzles and battle his way through dangerous dungeons. In the Twilight Realm, he'll have to use his wolf abilities and Midna's magic to bring light to the land.

Besides his trusty sword and shield, Link will use his bow and arrows, fight while on horseback and use a wealth of other items, both new and old.

When i think about all the fair to middling results of the nintendo hype machine, like the whole "gba gc connectivity is the best thing since sliced bread!" matter, i wonder about how all this is gonna stack up in the end.

still, its zelda. and its link.

I agree. The new ability to polymorph into wolf is totally awesome. Think of all those new gameplay potentials. But looking at the E3 trailer, I can't help but think that the wolf's model needs some rework.

Especially the morphing sequence. The wolf just look like a plastic toy. Nintendo needs to add actual fur to the wolf to compliment the gorgeous environment.

Also, did not spot Ganon or Zelda in the trailer. Could Zelda be disguised as a cloaked man again?

Fix the wolf model, and I'll be one happy Zelda freak.

I'll have to disagree on this one. Nintendo has a track record of memorable and lovable NPC's. In the trailer, I see some interesting NPCs around. The fat lady with a cat looks interesting.

The dark theme seems to only be applied to dungeons, and it's seems to be the defacto theme everytime you're morphed into a wolf. Other than that, the world that Link lived in is quite vibrant as you could see from the forest clips and other interesting scenes.

EDIT: Here's an excerpt from an interview with Eiji Aunoma:

IGN: So is Link's transformation based on a day/night system?

Eiji Aonuma: No, actually in this game when Link enters the Twilight Realm he transforms into the wolf. I think there may have been some inspiration for the schematic elements of the moon rising and someone transforming into the wolf originally, but that's actually not part of the game system.

AS you can see, it's quite apparent that in wolf form, link is always in the Twilight Realm. I don't think that anyone would expect or be wanting a twilight realm in psychedelic textures.

On the cell-shaded approach of wind-waker, as much as I liked that approach, I cannot find much fault in the new and gorgeous iteration. I'm sure I'd like this one as much as Ocarina of Time or Majora Mask.

Do you now that fishing is back and that the gay Tingle is gone (Aww...I kinda like tingle)! Also, where's Navi? In wind-waker, the boat kinda act like Navi, could the new skull-kid riding on link-wolf be the new Navi?

Some interesting things taken from an interview with Eiji Aunoma:

IGN: Is Ganon in the game and if so, what part does he play?

Eiji Aonuma: Well, each piece of the Triforce has a relationship to each of the main characters and Ganon is one of those. So in that sense Ganon will have a relationship to this game. But as to how he might appear or what he might be doing, we're not going to reveal that just yet

IGN: Can the wolf and Midna separate at any time or are they glued together when Link enters the Twilight Realm?

Eiji Aonuma: In the Twilight Realm when Link is a wolf, he and Midna will always be together. Gradually, as Twilight gets pushed back and light is revealed, Link will transform back into human form and then there would be a partnership between he and Midna in a slightly different sense.

More intersting stuff from IGN:

# When Link clears an area in the Twilight Realm, it changes back to normal Hyrule and he returns to human form.
# Midna also undergoes a change when she exits the Twilight Realm. "If you go with the strictest definition of exist then yes, she can exist in normal Hyrule," explains Eiji Aonuma. "But there is a certain kind of subtlety to that which I can't reveal at this point in time." Some gamers have speculated that Midna is in fact Link's shadow, which comes to life in Twilight.
# Ganon is in the game and very likely the main antagonist.
# The hero can dive and swim underwater, which suggests there will be a Water Temple.
# Zelda is in the game. She is the cloaked figure seen in videos. She wears this mourner's robe to mourn what she sees as the death of Hyrule at the hands of the Twilight Realm.

Read the rest here at:
http://cube.ign.com/articles/621/621258p2.html

Ah....Sunken temple.....One of the most frustrating yet strangely satisfying dungeon ever. A replica many times bigger than that in Ocarina of time will definitely be loaded with tonnes of nasty puzzles.

Neither do I.

But if you asked me how Star War is chronicled, I would say:
Episode 4, 2, 1, 3, 5 and 6. tongue.gif

Yo!!! Good to hear there are so many zelda fans around here. hope i'm not too late to join in the forum...it's getting very quiet i see..
My first zelda game was the NES version.. the original legend of zelda... fell in love with it since then....i still remember there were a few episodes of zelda cartoon in the super mario bro super show... and captain N... how many years ago was that? whew... i'm getting old already...

but i didn't get to play 3D zelda (i feel dizzy playing 3D games) ... and i dont' really like the idea of emulators , so i'm still waiting to get a cheap gamecube so that I can play all the zelda games tat i've missed... but I love the 2D versions... the most unforgettable ones were ' a link to the past' and ' link's awakening' .. they are the best!

i see the wind waker version is very southpark like... is it good??

anyone here owns an original gba version of a link to the past?? how big is the booklet inside?? is it as big as the one for SNES?? i think ALTTP has the best artwork ... thinking of getting the original catridge..

But if they announce that the game jumps to Rev instead........

I hope it will not be bound for Rev coz if it is for Rev then the new Zelda stated by Prez Iwata is TTP and not a new one. It'll probably take more than a year for the next Zelda to make an appearance for Rev since Nintendo have confirm that Eiji Aonuma will also be in-charge for the next Zelda, if I'm not mistaken. I don't think he can direct 2 Zelda game at the same time. Big headache by then, for Eiji.

What does FF9 got to do with Zelda forum? BTW, I not purposely try to provoke you & since your "IF YOU ARE NOT WITH ME, THEN YOU ARE MY ENEMY!" motto is a little bit on the dangerous side... heheheh.

I think you mistakenly post your question on the wrong thread.

BTW, to answer your Q, both FF7 & FF8 have random battle (not so sure about FF8 coz I don't like that series very much). Frustrating? Nah, if you like to lvl up your character (like myself), then you wouldn't mind the random battle. FFX also got random battle, some part almost frequently, but if you equipped a special item, than u can avoid any random battle.

FF9 is my fav, which include FF7 (my very 1st FF exp), FFX, FFT, FF5, & FF6. Diff ppl, diff opinion.

Another Square game that i prefered was Chrono Trigger. Not all that fond of Cross. But in trigger i liked the battles because almost always you could avoid fighting by moving around very visible monsters.

rash: you worried about TTP going rev too huh? i admit I have not been reading most of the specs on the Rev, but for it to jump to the next platform, the GC chip and the Rev chip have to be direct chipset descendents. Otherwise, it would be a "rebuild from scratch" scenario. I dont think its all that likely.

Never did finish Chrono Trigger (using emu to play last time). Played until where it took place in the future & all the area become savaged. Nice game though.

This type of battle style can be found on GC RPG such as Paper Mario 2, Tales of Symphonia & Baten Kaitos.

Yup, it's because the after the end of fiscal year of Mac 2005 announcement thingy. Wasn't it's already too late to announce the release date for TP after that? Maybe Nintendo will really release this game when the Rev finally launch?

Can't wait for any announcement by Nintendo at the game convention in Germany...if there is any although Matt already told that there will be no announcement from Nintendo..but there may be surprises right?...better stop myself from typing before i make myself looks stupid.. laugh.gif

Chrono trigger must have been the first RPG i ever finished...... Ah.... good times...... I was so young then........

I guess everyone needs a healthy dose of zelda and we are all missing our fix since "The Minish Cap"

Best not to speculate. But cant help but speculate..... Well, if they breach the release date past next year's E3 then i would begin to worry. It would be bad form to try and put up a show for a star game aiming for the GC when they would obviously be geared to show off the more up to date Next-Gen console.

I'm one of those who are quite disappointed with FF9 not because it's cartoonish.. it's because there's nothing new in FF9, the storyline is pretty plain.. it's like "Oh, been there, done that" kinda situation...
My favourite is still FF6 and FF7. Great storyline and full of surprises. They are the best!! FF8 was not bad too.
But the worse for me is FFX2.... like playing Charlie's Angels in FF world, very girlish. Anyway.. i enjoy the bikinis in hot spring part though... drool.gif (those who played should know what i'm talking about)

ok.. let's get back to Zelda... IMO the artwork of Zelda in Twillight Princess is really really NICE!! She looks so... so... beautiful and matured... i wonder how princess zelda will look like in bikini....drool.gif

apparently Twilight Pricess will be the LAST ZELDA GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????

QUOTE
Eagerly-awaited Gamecube title The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will mark the end of an era for the hit series, according to a transcript of a recent radio interview with Shigeru Miyamoto.

"This will be, without a doubt, the last Zelda game as you know it in its present form," Miyamoto is quoted as saying.

He declined to reveal any more details as to how the series will be reborn, but did go on to assure fans that Twilight Princess will be absolutely aces: "Our goal was to make the best Zelda game ever. The most rich, satisfying and [melancholic].

"I worked on it personally, moreso than Wind Waker. I haven't invested as much into any game as I have this one," Miyamoto said.

"We've really improved it in just a few months. Everything's coming together, much quicker. We may have some last minute ideas," he added.

And it's not just Zelda who'll be getting a next-gen makeover - everyone's favourite Italian plumber is set to star in a new game that will "surprise many people," according to Shigsy.

"Mario is and always has been a concept title from his birth. We are always looking for new ways of playing with him, manipulating him, to create something new and unique. We're in the midst of preparing something special for his future, something never before seen.

"Give us the benefit of the doubt. I think we'll present you with a new way to have fun."

Miyamoto also revealed that Mario is getting a brand new sidekick, but kept firmly schtum on the details. However, he did confirm that Mario 128 is simply a working title for the forthcoming game.

"Of course we will rename it, obviously. That won't be the only surprise of next year though.

"Mario 128 played a large role in the Revolution's conception, much like Mario 64 in its time. But we won't just be focusing on Mario. We're working on some very impressive games which push interactivity to the max. Games of a new era," Miyamoto said.

"We will be revealing many details soon... While our gamers are sleeping, we're busy thinking up new ideas. But while they're playing, we're playing as well," he concluded.

Let's just hope they're not too knackered to finish Twilight Princess - the game was recently delayed until next year, with a Nintendo bigwig saying it won't appear until April at the earliest. Roll on 2006...

Uhm, it think they just mean that after this, Zelda , and even the Mario franchise, are gonna be revamped to a different formula instead of what has been done in the past......

I dont think its gonna be the LAST zelda game. Findings suggest that the following things have to happen first:

1) Nintendo announces that they will no longer be making Pokemon sequels. Satoru Iwata says "There is no point flogging this dead horse."
2) Shigeru Miyamoto renounces all worldly wants and retreats into seclusion to become an ascetic monk. Quoted saying "I just can't keep up with you young whippersnappers anymore. You and your tee vee games."
3) Mother 3 is finally announced with proper screenshots and promises more rabid crows and angry ladies than the previous installments.

*
The 2nd suggestion will probably put Nintendo out of business immediately... hehehe

Maybe, the next Zelda game will involved actively around playing Zelda/Sheik rather than Link himself?

Actually, it would be the 1st suggestion that would put them outta business. You know that most of nintendo's earnings comes from GBA sales of Pokemon and other Pokemon related paraphenalia?

I dunno about not playing Link. I think Miyamoto said a while back that the concept of Link representing your link between you and the game. In most of the Zelda games, Link was also the go-between for 2 or more different worlds. It would seem to destroy that concept if you play as Zelda. Then again, that might be what they seek out to do.

Yes i agree, if not because of the lucky Pokemon, i think nintendo's already a goner during PS1 era.

Playing as Zelda.. NOOOO!! I don't want to see beautiful Princess Zelda running around and climbing boxes... well i don't mind if we get to use her once in a while like in super smash bros.. but making her the main playable character in Zelda series replacing Link?? ...man, if they gonna do it ... i think it would probably end up like FFX-2... sigh.. haha anyway, it's just a hypothetical question isn't it..

OK.. back to speculation of Twilight Princess.. i have a question..
i always like the idea of using musical instrument/playing notes in zelda series.
and we saw at E3, link was using somekind of whistle or flute to call Epona..
now do you guys think that we can play musical notes in TP?? anyone got any news/info regarding this? using the ocarina again?

I actually think a lotta people wanna see Zelda prancing around Hyrule. especially in a skin tight outfit which is less outfit and more skin.

Im just not sure these are the people that should be playing nintendo games.

If memory serves me, there has been some sorta ocarina related thing in most of the later Zelda games. I don't think they are gonna abandon it now. Not in the last game before the game becomes "TOTALLY DIFFERENT"

I'm really curious to find out how DIFFERENT the Revolution game can be...

I just hope they won't make it into a first person view game because i'll get sick & dizzy when playing first person view games....

so i won't be surprised if the new zelda is a full FPV game....

Hmm. with motion sensors, maybe you use the remote movement to control position of a shield, or block with a sword........

Well, I dont like the idea of a FPV Zelda, but a lotta people were up in arms about a FPV Metroid at the beginning of the GC era. So i have to reserve judgement until they actually make a revolution zelda.

Maybe its gonna be an MMORPG. "The legend of Zelda: Four Thousand Sword Adventure."

I don't mind the LOZ: TP to be delayed as long as it is because of making the game better and completed.

There's rumour surrounding TP that the delay is becoz Nintendo is going to make it Revolution-controller compatible....but it's still a GameCube game in essence....

i guess that will make it delay further more???

Compared to Twilight Princess, Wind Waker's graphic look like shit. I enjoyed the game but I was annoyed by the graphics.

Anyway, to those who have seen the trailers and all, did you guys notice the uncanny resemblance with The Lord Of The Rings?

Okay I just received my Gamecube to GBA link cable. I bought it just to use Tingle Tuner in Wind Waker.

But bloody hell, it doesn't work! I kept getting the error message (something like, make sure it's connected properly blablabla) after calling Tingle. There's a chime from the GBA SP though.

The cable is from Nyko btw, not the official one.

I need feedbacks on this, please.

Nope, I don't hate cel shaded graphics.

In fact, I like Killer7, Dark Cloud 2, Jet Grind Radio and some other games that I don't bother to recall.

Anyway besides Wind Waker, none of my GC games look that cartoonish. (save for Paper Mario, but my younger brother was the one who bought it)

Let's not argue about this though because it's just a matter of personal preference.

On the other hand, can anyone here enlighten me on the problem described above?

First off, test the ports on the game cube and gba that you plugged the cable into. If they both work normally, the it's the cable lah.

I got a "Mad Catz" connecter, works fine for me....

Hi guys, I'm so glad to see there are so many gamers who like to play Zelda here. I thought I'm the only guy in Malaysia who like Zelda so much.

I've created a website called Zelda-Fans.com. It's still very much in construction but I'll continue to work on it.

I'm currently working on the site's Blog which I think it would be interesting.
Please view here - Zelda-Fans Blog

Tell me what you think about the site. Any comments or critics are welcome!

Nope, I agree with you, Zelda should be as immortal as pong. But I dunno if it will be made to the end of time. Maybe, eventually, the nintendo brand of Zelda will die and we will be left with a bunch of cheap clones
And my small collection of N64 games and Gamecube games seem to get more use than my pile of ps2 games, anyone else in the same situation?

I "tested" the japanese version. The graphic is cute, the touch screen function is "interesting" so to speak. Will take a bit to get used to. But the language barrier is huge, so I didn't really even manage to get anything yet sad.gif

Just started to play the Legend of Zelda on the Wii. The graphics are very nice for a Wii game (so far i feel it is the best), interesting quiz too.

Reminds me of the N64 version Zelda Ocarina of Time, where i got stuck at the quiz at several part (ghost mansion, Volcano part, and .......). This Zelda is always a nice game to play!!!

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass gets a North American date
QUOTE
Launching Oct. 1, The Legend of Zelda(R): Phantom Hourglass, complete with crisp 3-D cartoon graphics and multiplayer battles over Nintendo(R) Wi-Fi Connection, marks the debut of the franchise on Nintendo DS(tm).

As a special bonus for Nintendo's rewards club, My Nintendo members who register the game and their Nintendo DS hardware at MyNintendo.com and fill out a short survey will receive a special Nintendo DS stylus that looks like an old-fashioned quill pen, modeled after an item in the game (subject to availability).

HELP!!

I tried gamefaq for this but couldn't find the solution.

Currently playing Twilight Princess for the wii right now but stuck at the temple where we have to save a lot of monkeys in order to cross the fallen bridge.

How many monkeys are we suppose to save? Right now I have 3 already with me. I still can't figure out how to open the blocked entrance that have a big boulder stuck in it. The faq says to throw a spiderbomb at it but the bomb keep exploding before i managed to do it.

HELP me pass this stage! sad.gif

I just started playing twilight princess last weekend too, so i feel for you.

You need to act quick because the spider bomb detonates rather quickly. you don't need to jump across the gap though, just throw it from the other side where you got the spider bomb. the explosion should be big enough to break the boulder.

clearing that room will get you your fourth and last monkey.

Use the spider bomb at the stairs, where there's a man-eating plant, if u remember bombing it b4 u can get across.
Then, dun use ur sword to hit the spider bomb, use ur shield to block its attack, it'll stun itself (kinda dumb), remember to lure it closer to the path u're gonna run.
Onced it stunned itself, quickly run up, dun roll, pick it up, run like there's no tomoro cross the gap den throw... If not u can throw from the gap as well.

Just finished yesterday. Good storyline and final battle is great(used to play Final Fantasy, this is my first Zelda game). For the 4th monkey, I spend almost an hour to figure out how to break the bolder. My method is use the spiderbomb on the top after climbing the vine. On the first spiderbomb, hit it and let it explode. Then stand near the nest. Once the spiderbomb emerge, quickly grab and run towards the bolder. Here is where most of us make a mistake. You don't have to press the jump button. If you notice, whenever you run to a ledge which is possible to jump, the system will automatically jump for you without falling. You should just run towards the bolder and will have enough time to throw the spiderbomb towards the bolder.

Well I'm enjoying my boomerang now biggrin.gif

They did... when that old guy told you to climb up to the small bluff in the village and said that you could probably jump over to the other bluff with the whistling grass by flicking [analog joystick]
