Hi Cipan,

Beautiful cats you have there thumbup.gif
For your information, long haired cats will shed because of the following :-

- hot weather
- stress
- low grade quality of food

Also, long haired cats will tend to shed a few times in a year. This is normal.

To avoid cats shed a lot of fur you will need to give them supplements that is high in Omega 3 and 6. This can be found in fish oil. Therefore go to the pet shops and get a bottle of fish oil supplements for your cats. Other supplements like brewster yeast, nutricoat, coatex and etc is also good for the coat.

Hi Catacombs,

Yes, cat flu is very dangerous to cats.
They can die from it.
Please bring your cat to the vet as soon as possible.
If not the babies inside will get it and die also.

Hi I'm new to this... I am wondering what is the best food for kitten, as I have an normal DLH kitten at my house now smile.gif
*
The best food would be kitten food until it reaches the age of 1 years old and then you can change to Adult food.
Best food brand would be Royal Canin, Iams, Blackwood, Evo, Avoderm etc.
Do not buy food off the supermarket shelves as this food is not good for your cats health.

Hi all~
my cat is hair loss very serious, lol
i bought something like this, but i think not much help
user posted image

can you guys show some comb that really can help this problem?  laugh.gif
*
Hi Badtzcarol,

First of all this comb is wrong as its very sharp.
When grooming your cat you will hurt it as the edges is very sharp and pointed.
When looking for a grooming comb, try to find one with rounded edges.

Secondly, its not the comb that is making your cat shedding fur.
Shedding fur could be due to :-
- stress
- hot weather
- low quality food

What you need to do is give your cat supplements like :-
- fish oil which is rich in Omega 3 and 6
- brewster yeast
- nutricoat

Buy anyone of these and it can help to minimize the fur shedding.

Hi,

Just checking is it safe to feed cat/kitten raw food like fish, meat and or chicken as their main diet? or do i have to pre cook them first before feeding to them brows.gif
*
Hi....

Yes, you can feed your cat/kitten with raw meat.
As for fish I am not too sure.
Usually I will boil the fish with water (no salt) and then feed my cats with the fish flesh only.
The head and bones I will throw.
The only raw fish I will feed to my cats is salmon fillets.
They love it.
Same goes for chicken.
Boil in water only and then tear off the chicken meat and feed to my cats.
Remember when you feed raw meat to your cats you will need to deworm them on a regular basis.

my cat sneeze once awhile... but last time during secondary i stole a book from the library and they say that if a cat keep sneezing, the flu is not to be taken lightly. =/ so... vet?
*
Hi OctoberFly,

Yes, your cat is suffering from flu.
If your cat has been vacinated, then the flu will not be too bad on your cat however if your cat has not been vacinated and the flu not treated your cat can die from it.
You have two choices.
1) Bring it to the vet and get treated or
2) Go to the pharmacy and buy antiobiotic called Amoxillyn (an antibiotic for human to treat fever and colds). If the medication is in pill form. Cut it into two and feed your cat with half a tablet once in the morning and once in the evening. If kitten cut the tablet into four and feed once per day only. If in capsule form, open the capsule and divide the powder form into two. You can mix the powder into the wet food and feed to your cat of mix with a bit of water and syringe feed to your cat. Do this for at least one week.

Dont worry, its safe as I learn this from the vet biggrin.gif I do this for all my cats and it works.

Hi kalkeat,
For one or two days ok but not for a week.
First of all it's too small.
Secondly not practical and safe to leave your cats unattended for a week.

oh.. sad.gif last time she used to sneeze once awhile. maybe like once a few months? is she still suffering from flu? ._. sometimes i think she breathe in her own fur or something... I'll do the amoxillin thing when she has cold again. X_X I hope she's not allergic to penicillin-family antibiotic. So cool! I never knew that pets can use the same antibiotics!

p/s: isn't all antibiotics are controlled-drugs? Can buy from pharmacy w/o prescriptions?
*
Yes, the flu can be on and off.
Have you vacinated your cat?
Vacinating will help to fight off flu infections.
Cats can die from flu if not treated.
Yes, you can purchase amocixillin from the pharmacy.

hi.. wanna ask some few questions
is there a minimum age before can vaccine a cat??
how much does a vaccination cost??
*
Vacination can start as early as the kitten reaches the age of 6 weeks.
But most people will vacinate their kitten when the kitten is 3 months old.
Vacination costs from RM35 to RM38 depending on the vet.
I usually bring mine to Klinik Yuan who charges RM25.00

hmm. my cats keep on having diarrhea everyday. need to clean them every morning. is this because of the vaccine shot? or too many food given?
*
If you are over feeding it with kitten food yes, it will cause diarrhea as the kitten food is very high in protein.
When a cat overfeeds on food that is high in protein it could cause diarrhea.
Another reason could be due to worms.
When you vacine your cat did you get it deworm too?

What to do if my cat's fur keep falling? Buy him different foods? Or are there any special shampoo or something?  icon_question.gif
*
There are many reasons why cats are shedding their fur such as :-

1) Low quality food (high content in salt)
2) Stress due to new members in the family, new furniture, wanting to mate etc
3) Weather too hot

In order for to control the excess shedding, you must :-

1) Groom your cat on a regular basis
2) Give good premium food
3) Give supplements for fur e.g. Coatex, Brewster Yeast, Fish Oil just to name a few

Hope this will help you.

hi guys. recently i just bought auto pet feeder for my beloved cat. something like this but the food part got container..
user posted image
so anyway my concern is my cat doesnt want to drink thru the bottle.. how can i make her drink from that bottle? hmm.gif

wah the feeder looks awesome! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif can replace with a bottle that can flow to the container at the bottom not? i think that's more practical. saw a type with a 1L bottle.
*

[/quote]

I dont think that is an auto feeder in the first place.
An auto feeder has a container where you can put the food in and it will slowly come down once the food in the bowl is finishing. This looks like a normal pet bowl only the difference it has a water bottle attached to it.

To get your cat to drink out of the water bottle, try to put some tuna water in it first.
Your cat will smell the tuna water and start licking the nozzle.
The slowly put in water and tadaaa... your cats is drinking from it.
Good luck tongue.gif

Yeah agree. The attachment is for illustration purpose only i think.  wink.gif she mentioned got container for the food part...
anyways, that is a great idea to mix tuna water to help cats lick the bottle!  thumbup.gif
but im thinking of buying the one with a bottle which auto fills the bowl. saw those in pet shops. how does it work? any opinions on types of auto feeder which are good?

thanks in advance!
*
Basically, I am not a fan of auto feeder unless I am going away for a short trip.
When you put the food inside the auto feeder there is an outlet for the food to come out so air can actually go into the container and then spoil the food inside the container. When I say 'spoil' is 'masuk angin' so some cats might not want to eat the biscuits anymore.

Better to put fresh kibbles every day icon_rolleyes.gif

As for the water outlet, I think you are talking about the drinking fountain?
It is good as there is a filter that will filter the water so all the dust and hair will be filtered.
You can see a sample of a drinking fountain at my website.
My price is cheap compared to outside biggrin.gif

Verulin, if you compare the cat food in Tesco e.g. Tesco brand, Whiskas, Frieskies I think the BW I am selling at RM9.20 is still the cheapest tongue.gif as for 1kg frieskies is around RM12.00 something or even higher.

Just my two cents. icon_rolleyes.gif

My mom rage already.

Any idea how to stop this cat from pee all over the place. Does Neuter/Spay the cat help?
*
When a cat pees outside his litter box some people say say its due to illness. How true i am not sure. Neutering or spaying sometimes will stop the bad habit but at times it doesnt. Not guaranteed.
