I'm going to start working and i'm planning to get a CC. and i need some advices on these 1. most CC applications require a one month income slip, since I'll only begin to work in the mid of august and most likely the amount i'll get for august will be half of my salary, in this case, can i use that income slip for applying CC at the end of august?
2. i'll only use CC for some products which the prices are too high than i can afford (below rm3k-4k im sure), which CC has a most suitable interest for me that i might have to pay the debt for about less than a year coz i dont want to get high interest on that.
3. who set the minimum monthly payment? what does it mean of 5% of outstanding balance?

QUOTE(ronnie @ Jul 23 2009, 10:24 AM) 1. You can use the letter of offer you received from your employer. 2. If you can't afford an item, DO NOT BUY it... you getting yourself in debt. 3. The banks will set the rate.... Conclusion: I don't think you are suitable to own a credit card yet. 2. i just dont understand why some people in this forum prefer to ask people to not this to not that instead of providing a better advice? maybe i LOVE to be in debt? why dont u let me decide whether i should get a cc or so? and i dont understand if u can afford an item, why do u still need a credit card, go ahead pay check or cash settle the payment once, and eventually this thread will be useless whats the point?

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Jul 23 2009, 03:20 PM) Dear... we are trying to provide reasonable financial advise and pre-empt people on credit card risk, trap, interest rate, etc. We don't want our forummer friends to get into debts, along, worry, etc. I think the main point we use CC and pay back full in cast is to get the points and rebates. Why not utilise the cards in a positive way ? 1 define 'reasonable financial advice'? straight away banning one's idea of getting a thing just because u think he is not suitable for that without answering based on the original questions? for those ppl who think one is not suitable for a cc based on wat u think he can't pay the debt? be not able to afford this month doesnt mean not able to pay for the next 2-3 months. and the 'reasonable financial advice' that i've got is merely telling me i'm dead and no the reason why i am dead. 2 i never like a lucky draw. when i want something and it worth the price then i wont care if theres a rebate or not. and i never care a tactic
