Hello Damien. A poster a few pages back told us of the overheating problem. I think he tested on several units in an Apple Store? (not sure which country tho). And I saw several mentions on the internet too, example here. But if it is not as serious or just some few cases I shouldn't worry much then.

Thanks... before this my friend told me that VGA is for the front camera.. but the back camera is 5 mega-pixels..

for rm800-1000+ u get so much more than a camera, and main function of an ipod isn't taking pics, but for browser usability, apps, entertainment and now - facetime.

And heating is common in all ipods when you run serious power hogging apps. Dont forget its just like a mini pc with no fan, and the ipods hardware is touching/almost touching the screen since its so slim.
Its only a major issue if its overheating so bad, that it hangs/shut down or to the point it almost burn ur skin

lol the camera is a added bonus, no one ask you use it for photography.

anyone who bought the new ipod touch has anything to comment regarding the overheating issue?

i think it will be an issue for most of the users later on.

for goodness sake, there is no overheating issue
all ipods get hot when they run apps/functions that requires more processing power.
once you have a case/skin on it you wont feel most of it

Hi all.

I have recently bought the ipod touch 4G from epicentre singapore. Since this is my 1st ipod touch (upgraded from ipod nano 3G), I've donwloaded tonnes of apps especially games. At 1st, I didn't know how to properly shut down an apps, so I just click the menu button to exit from any apps. The upper back will start to heat up when you play games. So, imagine, when I've played many games without proper shutdown, meaning, there are so many games running in the background, the heat is still not an issue, I mean, the heat is there, but not a big issue at all. The heat is not a big deal at all. I didn't have any uncomfortable moment at all. Also, during this moment, I kept on connecting the ipod touch with the itunes to sync with the new downloaded apps and stuff. But still, it's not even an issue.

One thing I've noticed is that, whenever I'm not playing any games (even though the apps/games/utilities that I run in the beginning still haven't properly shut down), there heat will disappear.

When I found out on how to properly shut down the apps (double click on menu button), I saw like 32 running programs in the background! It's amazing how this ipod touch 4G can withstand that kind of work.

So, the heat is not a problem at all. Really.


Well, not yet, not at the moment. I'm not sure how long does it take for it come to Malaysia. Maybe others may be able to answer that for you.

32 running in background? lol i never have more than 2-3 apps running since i always close any app when i'm done using. Saves batt power too
but must be a pain to manually close apps 1 by 1. I hope they add a tab to close all apps just by tapping once in os4.2

I was so busy playing with the ipod. Didn't have time to read the online manual/guide on it, hehe. But at least, I read the information guide and the finger tips booklet given in the package.

I feel bad for torturing the ipod.

everytime, sure theres some guy saying that the itouch will be launched next week/be4 october/in october. most of the time is fake, trust at own risk

yala... i oso dunno whether wanna trust or not. later 1st week of oct go tak ada, then say 2nd week again. lol

according to apple malaysia website , its still under approval ooo. 4 weeks after lauching that means , end of next week or beginning of the following week.

Can't wait to get my hands on it.

my teacher told me today about postlaju
he sent a document to a lawyer in india last 6 week.
the lawyer told him,that he did not get the document from my teacher,
last week he went to india to do some stuff and also bring the document along.
So,my teacher came back from india,he went back to the post office asked
"what happen to my document that i sent?"
the post office guy/girl replied
"mungkin on the way"

the funny thing is,what will happen to the document if he post it? without the laju?
