I agree. Most of these peeps whining about the IPS seems to be nitpicking.

As for me, I have decided not to buy this iTouch 4G cos Apple has left out a very important feature and ie a flashlight so I can look for my keys in the dark! lol

I'm not obsessed with IPS technology, i just want whats better. I did not state that if there's no IPS. i wont buy it. It's just another addition to its awesome-ness
We'll. for instance, i want a sharper screen for browsing the net without currently zooming away to see words. ( LYN ) . Correct me if im wrong , IPS display also allows a better view in sunlight , no?

I dont know about others . but imagine IPS display in a small thing like that at an affordable price ..

Maybe you have not been clear about the advantages of IPS technology. It has nothing to do with enhancing screen display under sunlight... Please read more on IPS tech....

IPS provides a more sharper image with a wider viewing angle and works awesome under sunlight.

Sometimes i wonder why u think so straight.. not like anyone's gonna stand under the sun directly to play their touch.. What i mean under sunlight is a bright location , eg : coffee shop .

lol, lets not get too wrapped up with this IPS thingy. Actually I was thinking of getting the iTouch 3G when the ITouch 4G is released. My reasoning is that Apple prices their new offerings at a premium and I was thinking that since the iTouch 3G 64GB was RM1599 so the iTouch 4G 64GB may be in the region of RM1899. I was hoping the resellers will drop the price of the 3G substantially to get rid of old stocks.

I don't mind it doesnt have IPS cos if I wanna watch porn I'll do it on my laptop or desktop! I'm interested in the iTouch for the music and the games. If the 3G 64GB can drop to around RM900 or less I will seriously consider it.

@jedi_dc: seriously though, your English facility is decent enough. I've seen far worse.

I used to have a 2G touch, and the near-maximum brightness level is more than enough to offset some "sunlight" as jedi_dc put it... IPS is irrelevant. My only concern is some yellowish tint on the screen, it's prevalent on the 3G...

Not possible for substantial drop in price for resellers, but then again if they are desperate, they might bundle some freebies...

I've got some e-coupons that will bring the 4G touches cheaper than those of old stocks from resellers and even cheaper than those mass-selling of used 3G touches on LYN... so it's just a matter of 32GB or 64GB for me.
