Why not you send your casing to me and I'll get it sprayed matte black for you biggrin.gif Btw, I will have to sand, spray a layer of coat then the matte paint. These are all done using good quality car paint, not RM6.90 spray paint cans. Let me know if you're interested smile.gif

I will be doing them in the garage and I don't think it's worth the money if you want to buy everything because you will need the spraying gun and that machine that produces air pressure.

actually its a good thing to learn .
cause i see dat its not dat hard , juz dat for perfect spray paint , it'll take time and surely use kinda lots of money .
anyway , for matte black , no clear coat shud be added , it will be glossy .

Yup, it's fun to learn and try things out especially on the painting part. The thing is, car paint is sprayed using an air gun so the investment would be hefty if we only intend to use it once. You need to apply a coat before spraying the paint since it is of aluminum surface and the paint itself is matte.

Auto paint doesn't come in spray cans. You have to mix them with thinner and spray it with the gun.

i did testing on the airbrush with small compressor..the pressure is not high enough and get overheated fast..i giv up and buy spray cans instead..

Between..for matte color, how to make the paint not easily peel off when scratched..
i did my haf 932..on matte black..

Yes, that's a common problem because the paint doesn't stick on the surface (especially if aluminum). That's why you have to sand it first and spray a layer of undercoat if you can.

yeap dat i do know ^^,
heard dat we shud use very low grit like 250 for alu in order to make d primer stick nicely into d alu .
if use like 1000 grit means useless .
its meant for finishing sanding rite ?

I think I'm gonna change my mind again, not to give up to decorate my casing blush.gif

Well I'd like to know whether is it ok if I:
1. Sand it with fine sandpaper
2. Spray 1st layer then left it UNDER sunlight for about 1 hour or more
3. Spray 2nd layer and left it again UNDER hot sun
4. Spray 3rd layer and that's it.

Will it last long? B'coz I don't really plan to spray primer and coat it. Any further simple method or any better suggestion?
Teach me sifu-sifu out there laugh.gif

im not sure but if u do want quality , u have to bear d method lorh .

1. remove all d grease and wax using soap or something

2. for sanding d metal , i'd say use low grit like 250 or 500 grit sand paper to make d surface rough . its to ensure that when u spray , it will stick nicely to d metal surface.

3. u spray a thin layer of primer and wait for 10 minutes under hot sun . repeat 3 times . let it dry for 1 day and do fine sanding wif 500grit sand paper .

4. repeat step 3 for 3 times .

5. spray a thin layer of color paint and wait for 10 minutes under hot sun . repeat 3 times . let it dry for 1 day and do fine sanding wif 1000grit sand paper .

6. repeat step 5 for 3 times .

7. Apply a thin clear coat layer to have glossy finish . do it 3 times wif 10 minutes interval . let it dry 1 day and do fine sanding wif 1000grit sand paper .

8. repeat step 7 for 3 times .

dat's so far wat i know .
if anything wrong please tell me .
i oso want to know .

@monsh

Wow, means each primer & colour spray 9 times in total?

What if I don't want to make it glossy? I prefer dull, so there will be no light reflection inside the casing, haha, what should I do?

Actually the under coat will carry a color so first we sand then spray then sand it again then re-spray another layer. If you use sandpaper, just make sure you don't sand it too harsh until the surface gets badly scratched.
