If you want chinese support, go and download the appropriate region's firmware and flash your phone with it. IT IS ALREADY AVAILABLE. Using the firmware updater will not help you as it will only offer you to redownload the original firmware in your phone. You do not need to wait for a new version to come out. Be advised that most if not all telco charges data transfer per kilobytes by default unless you signed up for their unlimited data plans. Until you are sure which plan are you on, I suggest that you keep the data usage to a minimum as the charges can go up a lot very fast.

Lagging not really an issue. Don't be surprised the E71 can better the E72 at this area though because E72 has less free RAM than E71.
