QUOTE(jackyap84 @ Jan 25 2010, 09:06 PM) If the memory card not format during hard reset E72, the memory card still contain the system file for those application installed earlier on. As we mentioned hard reset (format E72), we want the E72 come online with fresh factory restore, how do we format the memory card? As I understand that, from the first time i turn on the E72, there are some system already exist in memory card, if we format the memory card ourselves, it will make the E72 running? Or we need to remain some system required file for E72 during delete or format memory card? Format the card on your computer. Nothing is needed "to run" your E72.This post has been edited by User61: Jan 25 2010, 09:40 PM |

QUOTE(diylover @ Jan 26 2010, 06:39 PM) hi sifus, The GPS in the E72 is A-GPS. It is assisted by the cell network to help you get your position faster and more accurately (I think) that's why you are charged. I'm not sure if you can switch off the "assistance". Perhaps someone else can tell you.i m new to using GPS in E72. everytime i offline search for a place in map (Ovi map), i notice there are data package sent or received via Maxis 3G Internet as shown in the log. wondering why..... i did the seacrhing in offline mode and yet there are data transferr and have to pay maxis. those car GPS whcih has no phoneline to work. isnt it my E72 equiped with GPS and suppose to work without phoneline just like the car GPS system ? thanks for sharing. |

QUOTE(cwye @ Feb 4 2010, 05:23 PM) may i know is that contact info is not sync with others (inbox, log etc)? That my dear is not a bug but a feature. The name shown in the SMS list will not change.example, i got a number 1234567 with name ABC. so i received a sms/call from 1234567, and it display as ABC in inbox/log. (expected) now i rename ABC -> DEF new sms/call from 1234567, will display as DEF but when i check back those old sms/call, it still showing me as ABC?! isnt it should show me as DEF? is that any step i need to do to refresh all? i tried restart the phone but still same. |

QUOTE(cwye @ Feb 4 2010, 09:12 PM) so same applied to call log? is that any way to update the name shown in SMS list/call log? Call log will be updated but not in the SMS list (only affects old SMSes which were received/sent before you assigned the new name to the number).isnt it is abit confusing if it didn't update those name? QUOTE(jackyap84 @ Feb 11 2010, 03:19 PM) hey bro, mine 1 is AP. But I sent to Nokia service center and flush the firmware to Malaysia version (charge me RM50). My current E72 able to display and write chinese after flushed to Malaysia firmware. The NSU probably properly detects your phone as a unit from some other region so you get that region's firmware. You will need to manually flash your phone if that's the case. |

It puts on significant bulk. You really can't say it's a sleek phone anymore with the Defender on. Here's mine without the belt clip on.
![]() I must say the plastic screen protector is of rather poor quality though. The case also makes the left and right options button harder to use. The same goes for most or all other outer most keys. There's an opening in the piece of plastic that is covering the keypad so that the optical pad can be used but it also allows dust to easily find its way beneath the piece of plastic by the mountain load =/ That being said, I'm still using it. If you want protection though, you'd be hardpressed to find something better than the Defender.

We're not sure if turning off 3G completely is even possible unlike the BlackBerry. Try google.

Get a nuvi. It's a worthwhile investment, much more userfriendly than Garmin on the E72. I'd only consider using it for walking navigation only actually. To drive and handle the non touchscreen E72 as a GPS at the same time would be really a pain in the ass.
