I get the AP E72, so the seller already help me to flash the firmware to support chinese. dun worry, you can input chinese like normal with the keypad.

as for the original set, i think can go back to nokia and ask them to do it for you.
*
sky, great to hear this from u. meaning that ur e72 cant read and type chinese, after u flush the firmware, its able to. after flushed the firmware, ur e72 running smoothly? i heard some users said, if flushed to wrong firmware, the whole set of phone will damage.

jackyap84. Listen to us. If you want chinese support, go and download the appropriate region's firmware and flash your phone with it. IT IS ALREADY AVAILABLE. Using the firmware updater will not help you as it will only offer you to redownload the original firmware in your phone. You do not need to wait for a new version to come out. And yes if you botch up you might end up bricking your phone.
*
user61, thanks for your advise. i had already googling for few days for the region firmware download source from internet. seem like i got nothing. do u have the source or link to get it? worst come to worst, i will approach sky_lor to meet his reseller to ask for flash firmware which support chinese.

I went to Nokia service center just now and asked for the firmware flushing to have chinese language support feature even my phone is AP set. I been informed those AP set not pre-installed with malaysia version firmware will not having chinese/malay supported. In order to have that, those AP set need to flush back to the malaysia version of it firmware and it is chargable RM50 to have this done.

Added on December 11, 2009, 6:01 pmIs it anyway to extract the firmware in handphone, say those already with malaysia firmware pre-installed so that can share with us?

It might due to ur phone is AP set & the firmware is not malaysia version. it happened to me as well. eventually, i sent to nokia center and reinstalled the malaysia firmware which charged RM50 as mine one also AP & its not under Nokia warranty.
