Since most of us here prefer the free shortcut method with P2P, the anime market here in Malaysia are the least profitable IMO. Unless you're a newfag below 12, none would want to enjoy the ear raep of Malay dubs (how hypocrite of us, considering that our first animes were all Malay-dubbed). Don't forget the annoying cuts and censors.

I realized that the Malay-dubbed version of Pokemon follows the English-dubbed version. Also, watching Initial D on Malay dub really makes it sound like you're watching Impak Maksima the Animation.

Try pronouncing the following with a weak, unconvincing generic voice:

HEEEEEYAAAAAHHHHHH!

I swear I heard the same voice yelling out with the same tone and vocal pattern a bajillion times on TV.

Oh god. If we ever have anime channel made in Malaysia, I dont think I can take it with the BM dubbing. By then also, the government will start realizing what is 'echi' and 'hentai', start making censorship for cartoons (backed by religion excuse) and probably will declare Japan as bad influence. No more opening magic door to Suzuki's bathroom lol.

No offence. In Japanese language, the characters sound so intelligent. When dubbed in BM, they sound like washed out Mat Rempit. Btw, souldnt Initial D not be shown publicly since it does sort of promoting illegal street racing.

rempit came even before initial d lol. blaming initial d is not the correct way to solve the problem.

All this discussion of "fansub or buy" does worry me. It might attract the attention of a certain monopolizing company in Malaysia that might force ISPs to monitor their subscribers and give out personal information of the subscriber's monthly usage. Just imagine if "buy" is our only choice as downloading fansub is outlawed. We'll have to live with shitty subs, poor quality video, and maybe even cuts and censorship.

It's always a good move to let grey area shit like this remain in the basement. Someone is bound to rob us of our freedom out there.
