i wont do mamba on sphex la...cos if i stick it on a table its going to be like the exactmat since the surface is similar....and everyone probably knows by now mamba works fine on exactmat.
once i manage to get the damn box open...i'll try the mamba on goliathus and see if all those ppl complaining are just unlucky or not...

there are some small things lacking in the mamba, wont affect performance tho...cant find any mention of it in the master guide so hopefully its just undocumented.

anyway, once the battery is fully charged then i'll have a go at it properly.

What small things?
Double click speeds, sensitivity and all that?
*
umm nope, like i said no performance related stuff yet cos i havent turned it on yet.
batt takes 3hrs to charge rite? so another 2 more hrs before i can actually test it.

but one thing right away i see missing is - you cannot change profiles without the driver.
Lachesis, CH or BSCE, u just press a button/s on the mouse to change profile.
there is no mention in the Mamba manual that lets u do that without drivers.
im sure im missing something or its not documented, cos razerzone says u can do it without software.

actualy, new ppl kinda think DA sucks...but they were right oso,DA need time to get along haha...I was desperate looking for an upgrade oni.
OOPS!!!sorry not alpha version shud be omega..
i know it's kinda small but i dont need so big mousepad
im kinda thinking lately this day hmm.gif
which 1 to buy?headset or earpump?
cuz i only can own either one vmad.gif
headset the most i can go is 5hv2(although not razer 1 but i like the pull out mic realy yeng!!)
the least i can go is still 3h(not razer...sory razer your headset are kinda expensive sweat.gif )
earpump?i better go get moray hahaha..
Dunno which 1 to pick blush.gif but i got plenty of time left to the next pc fair dont I? laugh.gif
*
are u always confused? tongue.gif
what new ppl think DA sux?
and razer headset expensive? but u are willing to pay for 5hv2?
iirc, both piranha & carcharias are both cheaper than normal 5hv2?
while 5hv2 w/ usb card is almost the same price as barracuda?
btw, 3h build quality sux.
also a good stereo headset is good enough, no need all the fancy 5.1 or 7.1 stuff...the small differences they make do not justify the huge price increase.

dunno if razer going to have a bag.
dont see a point in having a bag either since its not going to protect it much due to its extreme thinness.
just be careful with it, thats all.

*
did u even read the little review i posted on page 2?
do u even read razerzone? does it mention its cloth anywhere?
do u even read the testimonials on razerzone site?
it feels like the top of exactmat, so if u have ever felt the top of exactmat before u will know its not cloth.

despite being more advanced than optical, laser can hardly work at an extremely limited lifting distance, thicker feet will only make the mice becomes less precise
and teflon ring? From what I know it's the teflon feet used on Mac mice, surrounding the base of mice, didn't see Mamba is using any, perhaps there's another term to call that?
hard mat that focuses on speed will not help to reduce the jitter issue, in fact mice movement tends to be shaky due to the smooth surface and direct to the issue even more. Cloth mat focuses on control, gives more friction and may serve a better solution than hard mat in this, unless the cloth surface is dusty and clogged with micro substance that most of the reviews out there claimed may interrupt the operation of Razer's super sensitive lens, a case which I can hardly notice to occur on any other manufacturer's
it's a waste to use laser at 1.8k dpi, while for such working range a DA is more than enough. Razer wired mice cable is thin and sleek, can hardly affect gaming performance given a proper cable management, not as bothersome as charge up a tired mice.
*
no one is saying to make thicker feet thats 2 or 3mm or whatever.
just thick enough to raise it past the battery cover, hardly 0.5mm thicker.
the mamba's liftoff distance should be 2 CDs anyway, more than enough space.

and newer mamba's have teflon rings.
couple of guys here have gotten teflon rings from razer as theirs was from an earlier batch that didnt have them.

just in case www.googleityoumoron.com didnt work for u...
this is from http://help.razersupport.com.

QUOTE
Q:  When I click rapidly on my Razer Mamba I sometimes see the cursor move or jitter a bit.
A:  The Razer Mamba’s tracking sensor is extremely precise and when it is set at high levels of sensitivity, can sometimes detect movements caused by the slight shifting of your hand or the pressure you put into the mouse pad when you click. This effect can be amplified when using softer mousing surfaces as the precision of the sensor picks up even the slightest movement.

Most users should not experience this issue but a small proportion of users who hold the mouse and click a certain way will experience this. If you experience this issue, we have a round Teflon O-ring you can add around the Mamba’s sensor to help prevent this from happening. If you would like one of these Teflon O-rings please contact Razer Support at the following link.
to say that cloth pad offers more control than a hard speed pad, technically may sound correct, but in reality it all comes down to your preference.
also if you actually go thru razer configurator, it recommends using mamba on a hard mat.

jitter occurs even at stock condition, don't think it can work any better given thicker mouse feet
not sure if this happen to the rest, can be the flaw in product design or quality to begin with
I don't know if teflon ring helps while most of the time it's the firmware/driver behind this, other manufacturers would have include this in their products otherwise.
why would razer suggest a combination of mamba with hard mat? to promote the new-launched naked-exactmat-alike "sphex"?  laugh.gif
*
actually my point of having thicker mouse feet is not to cure jitter.
read properly la, its to increase the height just a little bit so the battery cover doesnt scrape the bottom.
either that, or future mamba's have the battery cover more flush, cos i can definitely feel the drag due to the cover on a cloth pad.

Both the Mambas I've used had no protruding battery covers. They were both fine, no draggy feeling at all. Must have been a unit specific problem (with Everdying's review unit), not a design flaw.

All newer Mambas come with the Teflon O-ring, so there shouldn't be any chatter of sensor dragging along the pad anymore. I've heard that the teflon rings do wear out easily. But for me I've received 2 extra O-rings from Razer (one from the US, one from Singapore), so that's not a problem. BTW I only requested for 1, the fact that they sent 2 is a mystery even to me.

I'm mostly using it at 2000DPI, I don't get any jittering cursors at all. Depends on how you hold it, and the surface you use it on I guess. Whatever it is, I have no regrets buying it. Best mouse I've owned.
*
try to take a closer look at your battery cover in good light.
i can clearly see the corner edges of the battery cover hardly like 0.5mm higher.
if on a hard pad u dont really feel the drag caused, but go on a cloth pad then its noticeable.
i could probably try to bend it in, but better still if they could recess it like how the top part of the battery cover is like.
which makes me wonder why they didnt.

Looked at it again, the bottom part of the battery cover on my unit sits completely flush with the bottom surface of the mouse. And I've tried it on my Goliathus Control Ed, no extra drag.
They shaped the battery cover with that slanted recess so that it could be placed and removed from its pedestal dock with ease.

BTW @ Everdying does your review unit have any French words on the packaging and manual/guide? Because mine does, and I distinctly remember my first unit didn't.
*
yes i obviously know the recess edge is so it can sit in the dock.
what i said was to recess to lower edge also.

i guess a picture is easier to see.
Attached Image

the circled area pops up just a little bit, same on the other side.
thats where i feel the slight drag from.
so meaning the battery cover isnt exactly flat, and can be easily solved by either using stronger material or recessing the whole lower edge by a little or by having thicker mouse feet.
and yes it has stupid language manuals too.

if u actually see properly, the dock clearly goes past the bottom of the battery cover.
so any bottom recess wont make any difference cept for smoothness of mouse.
or perhaps your tolerance of feel isnt that great.

and pls dont tell me about their manufacturing tolerances etc.
fyi, even the mighty Death Adder had complains on drag issues, and in which razer issued extra feet.
