Could you please give us the md5 of the downloaded file? Do not delete it yet.

If it is similar to the md5 provided by Sony, there must be some error during the unpacking/installing.

Please check at the firmware info in PS3 setting to make sure whether it is still on old firmware or on 3.00.

Thanks.

if it is ylod, i don't think it is the firmware fault. maybe your ps3 was already dying and so happen it died when you updated your firmware.

i want the md5 hash/signature of the downloaded file to narrow down whether the corrupt update is caused by bad download or bad unpacking/installing or the console itself is already dying and this is all just a coincidence like nwk stated above.

for the resolution, i suggest you to unplug the power at the back and wait a few minutes before trying again. and also try to turn on without the internal hdd.

PS3 update runs fine for me, just that the glitter seems nice at first, but after a while I can't help feeling that it's a little gay. I've been socially brainwashed into thinking glitter = decoration favored by homosexual men.

I turned it to original.

I miss the chime very much sad.gif
