well said there, micheal9413 rclxms.gif
C.drive get my vote on winding road but comfortable and quietness ride goes to ze912. profile 55 will give a more comfortable ride too.

thanks for the head up.
16" upgrade is currently under way. already bought a neo cps sports wheels to go with my brown color ride.
going for 215/55/r16 front and 225/55/r16 rear.

neo cps not 17"? ?
btw i've not seen any local car upgrade to 225/55-16 as d tire is so freaking expensive n it's ard rm630-700 per piece tire~
*
was 16". there is one in my garage now. looks like a golden megatron tongue.gif
my previous 205/55/r15 is bloody expensive for a 15" too smile.gif i might ditch the plan on 225/55/r16 rear due to the
rotating problem. gonna use the same size for all.

QUOTE(badang_1785 @ Nov 22 2009, 12:25 PM)
im using yokohama a drive shoudl be 195/55/r15.. whats the ideal  tyre pressure coz im driving old car.. no sticker to tell me the tyre pressure..
*
what car? 210f /190r should be standard on 195/55/r15. or slightly higher on lighter car. like
225f / 205r

maxxis tyre sux... yoko parada spec2 isn't for spirited driving as well.
i'd rather use r888 for dry track.

i am ugrading to 16" soon. using r888 from my other car + the neo cps 16" wheels. at least, there is a reason for me to drive slow in the wet smile.gif
but kinda sad to part with my 205/55/r15 rear tires; funny thing a worker at the tires shop in pandan indah don't even believe my car was riding on that size during until i drive my car over for wheel balancing.

btw, sometimes in march last year, i went to jalan kapar in klang to look for yokohama tires; most of the shop offer me around 200 bucks a piece without balancing.
went back home empty handed. next day, pass by a tires shop in cheras area and the boss offer me the same yokohama c.drive of 195/55/r15 around 380 bucks / 2 pieces including balancing and rims repair.
i immediately changed the 2 front.
conclusion; jalan kapar isn't the cheapest around but they do offer more varieties smile.gif

2nd to that... need to survey that's y we have the tire price list thread... but sadly ppl isn't helping to compile...
everyone on post what they have only...
for that size y not try Hankook V12?? around there also but better than C Drive as it is same league with S Drive... smile.gif
but if it is including the repair (i duno what repair) should be cheap already...
*
yeah, was intially considering the v12 but was not available.
used most of the tires from yokohama from a.drive r1 , c.drive, s.drive and ad07. plus the 035 or something...
never try a.drive though.
settled for the c.drive cuz my sister is driving the car. more suitable for girl tongue.gif

besides the free wheels balancing, the guy repair my dented rims; and change the valve cover as well.

That price reasonable!! What is the shop name & where is it located?
*
can't remember the shop name. if you drive straight from jalan pudu to jalan cheras which is under heavy construction now, there is a church or something on the left side, then a row of shop lot. turn left after the church and you will see the tires shop next to the spare part shop( can be seen from the main road). it's the only one.

QUOTE(michael9413 @ Jan 15 2010, 09:04 AM)
the should change ur valve mah... are you using metal valve??? yea for a girl is enough to use premium comfort... my V12 is still under use coz my gf is using the Vios... but my CC1 is over use in my old toy, almost 50% wear after 5 months of usage. might be my toy is a bit heavy (1.3++ tonne) so the front wear quite fast...
*
they changed to metal cover only tongue.gif
due to the steep price of ad08, gonna try other brand after this. either bridgestone or federal.

QUOTE(saiya @ Jan 15 2010, 11:50 AM)
hello guys..
i got continental 195/50/16 sport contact-1 tyre on my 1.6auto gen2..
what is the pressure for this tyre to pump air..? how many kpa or psi?
*
manufacturer recommendation should be 210 front and 190 rear but 225 front and 215 rear will be just nice.

exactly! drove through a deep puddle twice at 120km/h. water splashing covered the whole windscreen. slow down on the gas and control the steering to keep the car in line. sweat.gif

was using a lower rating c.drive back then but from my experience, it's wet grip is somehow better than re001 or cc1.
perhaps, the wider profile but equally lousy hs4 tires at the rear does help!

after testing a friend's car fitted with 17" ones, i will highly recommend the goodyear f1 assy. tires to anyone!
if offer a huge amount of grip while being quiet at the same time!

what is your ride? it's higly possible with bimmer / mercz / sportscar / track car.
a comfortable suspension setup may compromise on ultra low profile tires(with bigger rims) but the main problem is the potholes on our road. ultra low profile tires will affect the rims.
again, ultra low profile tires like those unde 40 require a bigger rims to look nice. bigger rims means stiffer suspension to avoid the inner fender touching the tires during hard corner or extra load.
stiffer suspension will definitely sacrifice the comfort ride.
btw, ultra low profile tires usually has a very hard sidewall; harder tires sidewall = stiff ride.

choose one that suit your driving style / preference.

er... i think 912 is good but i heard C Drive not bad also...
Long lasting change to Duraplus la... 100k km...
well er... it is recommended to change at 2mm... or the safety ridge... a horizontal block across ur linear thread...
*
you are right! 912 is more comfortable and quiet compare to c.drive. tested both.
c.drive offer more fun in winding road though.
duraplus last longer but the capability in emergency braking sux.. tongue.gif

anyone can comment on yokohama A. R1, C drive and S drive? interms of dry, wet, cornering, comfort and noise on 195/50/15 or 195/55/15.
thx alot
*
agree with Micheal. C.drive suit you the most. one of my ride used to be on C.drive front too.
for comfort, go for 195/55/r15.

Michelin... skip Continental CC1 it has some problem... my gf is using XM1 on her family Iswara Aeroback also... smile.gif

agree on ther bolded part. used to ride on conti cc1 tires when i was still a complete noob on tires.
3 out of 4 cc1 develop a dangerous 'bulging spot' when the tread is still around 60%.
but the traction is way better than nct5 in lower % thread.

well as i said look at the Manufacturing date... mostly can last 5 yrs but if you notice any minor cracks at the tire better lo... smile.gif
*
could be depend on the usage too. my friend's car cover more than 30k in a year, so his tires only last for
2 years sweat.gif
btw, does the v12 available in 205/55/r15? their site aren't very helpful. wanna pair it to my other ride.

well that is impressive... but a UHP tires will not last you more than 40k i think haha...
V12 if not mistaken don have that size... call Kai Shen and ask la... i just called toyo sales manager last week for toyo tires T1R availability... smile.gif
*
so, you wanna try t1r? the tire is fine. but i still prefer s.drive due to the availability of 205 width in 15" brows.gif

er... not sure yet but S Drive is out of my view at this moment... as the Opel test result shows that it is not better than T1R and worst T1R is lower rating than PP2... so still wondering swap back to PP2 and accept it will make my ride better in handling but loose out in comfort...
*
the only other reason i prefer s.drive was because it was easily available in odd size and it suit my preference smile.gif
but the new toyo proxes multi directional tread look menacing. am gonna take a look at the tire this weekend !
perhaps, ps3 maybe worth trying !
