Falken 912 or Hankook V12 only for you...
but if you want quiet then 912 should be better but Hankook V12 give you better grip... or u can try Yokohama ES501 or C Drive but it should be around RM220
skip Conti CC-1, Yokohama A Drive, BS MY-01, GY NCT5... those really over rated tires..
ur u can try Dunlop D-01 also but not sure if it is quiet though...

225/50 R16??? those if not mistaken are rare/odd size tires la... it will be more expensive than you think!!!
call up some of the shops posted in the 1st page of the Tire Price List Thread
*
I found 2 shops that have 225/50/16W (ZR)
Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 ( Germany) – Rm520 MPS Auto, Sunway
Toyo Proxes T1R (Japan) – Rm480 MPS Auto, Sunway

However those are V pattern , can they match with my front Michelin MXV8 ? In term of handling them on the road?

Hi guys, wanna ask something, lately my front tyres are making weird noise when i turn right or left more than halfway. if it's just turning left and right at a junction, or changing lanes, it's ok. but when i need to turn more, like when getting out of parking, making u-turn, then the front tyres will start making some weird noise. the noise is similar as to when u rub a wet rubber / balloon against glass. no vibrations were noted, just noise. do u guys have an idea as to what might cause this problem? hmm.gif thanks! notworthy.gif

tires are GY ducaro GA, stock tires for proton saga blm. sorry if this is the wrong place to ask.. sweat.gif

how old is your car? check your steering bush or wheels bearing. if it was the base line blm, sometimes could be caused by the loose wheel cover.

GSD3 is King of wet... these 2 is way better than ur MXV8 la... as those are UHP or Max tires while MXV8 is comfort only...
that price i can get new Michelin PS3 also quiet and a lil comfort compare to GSD3...

BTW GSD3 is better than T1R

for bro Danny,
is this problem occurs only at cement floor area??? if yes then it is normal...

about one year old. and the car is m-line, so using alloy rims.. the weird thing is, the noise is more apparent on a cold morning, or after raining... hmm.gif i guess u're right, maybe it's not the tyres after all... the steering brush seems like a probable answer... thanks smile.gif

thanks bro, i know that turning on a smooth flat surface will produce similar noise (like in the parking lot at the curve, sunway, etc), but it occurs on normal road too... sad.gif it's ok before this. the problem started about a month ago..

if you always turn the steering at full force / turn, chances are worn out steering bush. is there too much steering free play?

oohh.. maybe that's the cause... cos the turning radius of saga is quite large (i'm comparing with a hyundai getz, cos i only drive these 2 cars), so i always turn the steering wheel at full force until the steering wheel cant turn anymore and can hear a 'knock' sound... like how u would treat the steering wheel of an initial D console, turn the wheel as fast as u could at a corner until u hit the limit of the steering wheel and u hear something knocking against something... anyway, free play is within normal limit i guess. steering's still responsive, and handling is ok. just that the noise is quite worrying.. sweat.gif

ok. thanks for the info. however, the new PS3 doesn't have this size 225/50 R16.

Question is, since my front MXV8 still have 70%, will this setting OK?
Front MXV8 205/55/R16, Rear GSD3 225/50/R16?

Goodyear F1 Asymmetric or Hankook V12 smile.gif
GY is the best choice around RM400 if not mistaken and Hankook just about RM300 not bad also but after wear 50% it might be a bit noisy to certain ppl...

Hankook V12 is the best choice but it is about Rm300/ pcs if not mistaken, or try falken 912 about the same price around RM250~RM300... other than that i don recommend local tires lo if you wanna get it then Silverstone or Goodyear NCT5... but those ties is not good after 50% where the performance drop a lots compare to others...

well it is quite ok but wear a lil fast... don except too much from it as it is comfort performance not performance tire...
Hankook V12 is about similar price with 912 but perform better than 912 and further more it give a lil lil comfort where other UHP tire lack off...
