My experience it the critical thing in obtaining good sound is amp to speaker matching.

Sometimes and budget amp (standalone) paired with higher end speakers sound great, sometimes entry level speakers with mid level amp is better.

The one thing to watch out for would be the speaker sensitivity and the amp current. If well matched, the amp can drive the speakers efficiently and sound will not be strained. Well balanced.

Agreed on the speaker-amp matching. Practically though this is hard to achieve because not able to mix and match different speakers and amps to find the right combination. It's not like there is one shop with all the amp choices you want plus the speaker choices. Even if there was I wonder if they will entertain you so much to demo the various combinations.

Speaker > Amp > Cable. Speaker normally will give you the most sonic benefit.

YEP I agree on the Room part.

But shouldn't it be Room>Speakers>Amp>Tweaks. Got to get a room first right?
But I do believe in room, or it'll either be overwhelming or no feel LAH.

30/70 on AVR/Speaker is good way to go.

yes i do believe in room acoustics...

see the wood panel at back of my LCD TV in earlier post.

This tweak, really improve the sound a lot. resulting in

1- tighter bass smile.gif
2- vocals really stand out brows.gif
3- hear musical depth and distinctive placing and separation icon_idea.gif
4- overall sound acoustic improve tremendously thumbup.gif

just for a mere RM350.00, and its no ordinary wood rclxms.gif

Can you share what is special about those 6 wooden tubes? Are they specially made for acoustic purposes or they are used for other reasons but you adapted them for acoustic purposes.

1st of all i am not the one who manufacture or make it. i got it from an audioplile shop, and he hand made it.

believe me, if you terbalik (upside down) it the sound is different.,just don't know how he derive the technical "know-how" or principle....he seems to tell me that its for reflecting sound waves to a certain extend

i am just a layman but i sure can tell the differences is towards quality sonics....well it sure definitely improve the overall soundstage.

Added on June 10, 2009, 7:17 pmseriously i am a no good hifi audiophile listener,

also i know there are still a lot of sound room giving demo but the sound is out.

take the vocal for example, next time when you audition try to locate where the vocal is coming from (yea its definitely from the center) what i mean is the vocal height....

no need to close eyes and concentrate one, many sound room, have the vocal at a height of 2.5ft to 3ft(measurement from floor.)

this is just like the singer, be it he or she is just sitting on the floor and crooning a melody to you.

ideally, the singer should be standing, imagine the singers height, YES..... the singer's height, that's where the vocal should be coming out from

give it a try and you know what i mean thumbup.gif
