or get WDTV live? biggrin.gif maybe their pricing is more regulated? if WD sells for USD119 maybe locally, have to sell at RM500 or below?

the eSATA port can power up a 3.5" hard disk without external power source to the 3.5" hard disk?
if yes, any nice and compact encloser for 3.5"?

Normally Esata need additional power for the HDD.

no esata can't power devices like USB..

but got hybrid power esata solution now..

500mA current from USB can't do much for 3.5in HDD...

I have yet to come across any 3.5" HDDs that can be powered by existing USB 2 technology.

u dun say, I try to power my 7200 rpm 2.5" from a 2.5 inch USB case also having some difficulty liao.. biggrin.gif

Yes, I too have encountered this before. Plugging my 2.5" HDD via a USB hub, cannot run. Plug direct to the USB port, can run sweat.gif

Probably using the 2.5inch 1TB WD just launched...yup 1TB for notebooks

I really dunno...but if WD using a 2.5HD, be prepared for lots money cause notebook HD are always double the price from Desktop
